American maple in landscape design

This species is adapted to the most unfavorable conditions. You don’t have to look after him. It can do without watering, fertilizing and pruning. The tree propagates independently by seed, and also gives abundant growth. A single seedling can grow into a whole hedge in a few years. This type of maple has excellent regenerative properties. The tree does not die if branches are broken, the trunk is tilted or the bark is damaged.

Maple can grow along walls and fences, around the trunks of tall trees, on rocky and sandy soil, among debris. Without formative pruning, it grows as a shrub and loses its beautiful appearance.

Shapes can be formed from maple thickets. Such garden compositions will decorate the site.

American maple seedlings can be planted with ornamental trees and shrubs along roads, in parks and industrial areas for landscaping. The tree lives up to 100 years, but in urban conditions the life expectancy is 30 years. To make the tree look beautiful, it is necessary to carry out anti-aging pruning. Old branches need to be cut out, in their place a young growth will form.

If you want to grow maple on your site, dig up young growth and transplant the seedling to a fertilized place. Don’t forget about formative pruning.
