Altaziaja – action, application, composition, dosage, contraindications

Altaziaja is a medicinal preparation for topical application in the form of a gel. Altaziaja is used during bruises, edema, in post-traumatic and post-burn treatment. What other properties does it have? What are the contraindications for use?

Altaziaja – application

The drug Altaziaja, intended for the treatment of pain in the area of ​​inflammation, has a cooling effect. It is advisable to apply the gel topically to the skin to relieve swelling. Altaziaja has an astringent effect due to the coagulation of proteins on the surface of the tissues. The gel also loosens the epidermis and has a cooling effect due to the content of methanol and ethanol in its composition. Menthol also has the effect of reducing the sensitivity of skin nerve endings and causing local vasodilation.

Altaziaja – composition

1 g of Altaziaja gel contains 10 mg of aluminium tartrate (Aluminii acetotartras). The excipients included in the composition of a drug with a known effect are: ethyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 214), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216).

Altaziaja – dosage

Altaziaja gel should be applied directly to cleansed and dry skin. A small amount of the drug must be spread over the affected areas. Altaziaja should be used 3 to 4 times a day at intervals. It can be used directly on the skin by applying a gel or in the form of compresses. The drug should not be given to children under 3 years of age.

Altaziaja – contraindications

If you are hypersensitive or allergic to any of the ingredients of Altaziaja, you should not use it. The gel should also not be applied to open wounds, abrasions, extensive skin, infected surfaces. The patient’s age is also a contraindication to the use of the drug, i.e. it must not be used in children under 3 years of age.

Altaziaj – side effects

After using Altaziaja, side effects in the form of skin reactions may occur. Local skin reactions, erythematous, papules, subcutaneous granulation tissue. Skin maceration can be caused during intensive application of the drug. If you have severe kidney failure and are taking Altaziaja, you are at risk of developing symptoms of hyperaluminemia (high blood aluminum levels) and hypophosphataemia (low blood phosphate levels).

Altaziaja – precautions

Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes while using Altaziaja. In the event of accidental contact with the eyes or mucous membranes, the product should be removed by rinsing thoroughly with water. There are also no data on the use of aluminum acetate in pregnant women and during breastfeeding. Therefore, it is recommended that Altaziaja be used with caution in this group of people.
