Altacet is a drug that has astringent, decongestant and analgesic. The drug is available in the form of a colorless gel. Altacet contains the active substance aluminum acetate tartrate. It is thanks to him that Altacet has a tightening effect and reduces swelling on the skin. In addition, the local substance reduces pain in the area of inflammation.
When applied to the skin, Altacet leads to protein denaturation at the swelling site, i.e. it simply reduces exudation and inflammation. Altacet also contains menthol, which additionally cools the skin pleasantly.

Altacet – composition
The main component of Altacet gel is aluminum acetate tartrate, the content of which is 10 mg / g of the preparation. The excipients present in Altacet are:
- ethanol 96%;
- lewomentol;
- methyl parahydroxybenzoate;
- sodium hydroxide;
- carbomer;
- Purified Water.
In case of allergy to any of the ingredients of the drug, the use of Altacet is contraindicated.
Altacet – indications
Altacet is recommended especially in the case of contusions and various swellings after injuries of the body and joints. It is also used to treat edema in XNUMXst degree burns.

Altacet cannot always be used. Contraindication to the use of Altacet is allergy to any of the ingredients of the drug. Also remember to do not use Altacet by mouth, on large wounds where the skin is damaged, and on areas of the skin that are covered with blemishes or on infected skin.
Altacet must also not be used in children under 3 years of age.
Altacet – precautions

In people with renal insufficiency, the level of albumin in the blood plasma may increase and the amount of inorganic phosphate in the blood serum may decrease with prolonged use of the preparation.
People who use Altacet frequently, for a long time or on large areas of the skin should pay special attention to the possible occurrence of side effects.

Altacet – storage
The Altacet medicinal product should be stored below 25 ° C, away from children. The preparation cannot be left in the refrigerator or frozen. If we notice that Altacet gel has changed its consistency, appearance or smell, we should not use the drug.
