Is lemon tea healthy?
With number 1
Tea with lemon causes Aizheimer’s
A warning about drinking lemon tea appears on every second Internet portal. Most of them, however, are repeated rumors. Let’s start from the beginning. Tea does glin/aluminium (it is present in the soil in which it grows). However, aluminum is in an non-digestible form.
Minimal amounts of it go into the infusion. The problem arises only when we add lemon to the tea, leaving still grounds in it. The addition of acid causes the conversion of the non-digestible form of aluminum into the digestible form – aluminum citrate. It is very dangerous because aluminum builds up in tissues, e.g. in the brain. It is suspected to be related to the risk of Aizhaimera. However, it should be strongly emphasized that after adding lemon, clay is released only when there are coffee grounds in the cup! Its amount in the infusion itself will remain unchanged.
Our advice:
Before adding lemon to your infusion, remove the coffee grounds. Additionally, to preserve vitamin C, wait for the infusion to cool down. This vitamin is sensitive to high temperature.
Is flaxseed harmful?
With number 2
Ground flax is always harmful
Linen contains cyanogenic substances, i.e. substances that can transform into hydrogen cyanide
Indeed, hydrogen cyanide is a very strong poison, even a small dose can lead to poisoning. The activation of the compound does not take place, however, if the grain is whole – glycosides and the enzymes activating them are located in other parts of it. Fragmentation, on the other hand, leads to activation cyanogenic compounds. This can be prevented by pouring hot water or milk over the seeds – most of us do. It should be emphasized that flaxseed has an invaluable effect on health and if it is properly administered, it has no right to harm us.
Our advice:
Always pour hot liquid over the flax, then you will not have to worry about its harmfulness.
Can almonds be poisonous?
With number 3
Eating bitter almonds is a kind of poisoning
Bitter almonds are accused of having adverse effects due to their content hydrogen cyanide. However, if we eat bitter almonds in a reasonable amount, there is no possibility of poisoning with this compound. Contrary to appearances, bitter almonds are very often used, for example, in desserts and aromatic oils. They owe their popularity to their strong aroma. You should also be careful with the data appearing on the Internet on the alleged anti-cancer properties contained in min. in bitter almonds (it’s about amygdala). There are no studies to support this effect.
Our advice:
It doesn’t hurt to eat a few bitter almonds. However, watch out for the revelations from the Internet, at the moment there is not enough evidence that amygdalin has an anti-cancer effect on our body.
It turns out that most information about food is generalized. Not everything has to be completely bad. Often, proper preparation and knowledge of a few basic facts will dissuade us from giving up our favorite connection only because this is what Mr. X wrote on the website. Let’s try to approach everything with common sense and be sure to check the credibility of the “revelations” you hear.
