Almería new gastronomic capital
The Andalusian city has been chosen for next year as the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy
The jury of the event decided a few days ago to proclaim the only candidacy that remained the winner by discarding the other candidacy for not meeting the requirements demanded by the organization of the gastronomic event.
Almería had the unconditional support of institutions such as the Junta de Andalucía and the Provincial Council to achieve again and in a short time, that a city of that autonomous community, rose with the gastronomic capitality as Huelva in past editions.
A relief that Almería will take at the end of the year, heating stoves and preparing a great culinary offer and activities that surely have nothing to envy the outgoing city, León.
It is a great opportunity for the actors of the local gastronomy as well as the producers of the province, who will surely be able to position themselves as a reference tourist destination, thanks to their products and restaurants.
The work of the local council, which acted as a great promoter of the candidacy, has collected thousands of signatures, which endorse and add value to the mass.
Almería, viewpoint and lookout for our gastronomy.
The candidacy plans to carry out an offer of activities during the capital year, with hundreds of events that will consolidate it as one of the culinary and gastronomic references of our country.
Its garden, its products, its cuisine and its tapas are the best exponents for culinary creation and from now on the best ambassador to promote the Spanish capital of gastronomy of the year 2019
We will attend a real zarzuela of sea and land products such as prawns, octopus, migas or the endless tapas that can be tasted through the local hospitality.
The previous Spanish capitals that have held this title since the Spanish Hospitality Federation and the Spanish Federation of Tourism Journalists and Writers established the “annual title” have been:
- Leon – 2018
- Toledo – 2017
- Cáceres – 2016
- Vitoria – 2015
- Burgos – 2014
- Logroño – 2013
Long live our gastronomy
