Allergocrom

Allergocrom is an antiallergic preparation applied topically to the eye (conjunctival sac). The active ingredient of Allergocrom is sodium cromoglycate, which inhibits the development of allergic reactions in response to allergens. Sodium cromoglycate administered in the form of eye drops reduces, among other things, allergic conjunctivitis, swelling and itching of mucous membranes. Allergocrom eye drops practically do not cause systemic side effects.

Allergocrom – drug action

Allergocrom is a preparation that stabilizes the membranes of mast cells and has antiallergic properties. Topically applied to the eye, it soothes the effects of conjunctivitis, swelling and itching of the mucous membranes.

Allergocrom – indications and dosage

Allergocrom preparation is recommended in acute and chronic conjunctivitis, it is administered topically to the conjunctival sac. During dosing, use it as directed. Do not exceed the recommended dose of the drug, as this may compromise its effectiveness. It should be remembered that the dosing of the drug is not interrupted when the symptoms are eliminated, we continue the treatment until the contact with a given allergen (e.g. dust, pollen) ceases.

Dosage:

Adults and children. 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 4 times a day.

Do not use Allergocrom if you are allergic to any component of the drug.

Allergocrom – warnings

  1. Soft contact lenses must not be worn during treatment with Allergocrom.
  2. Taking the preparation during pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is necessary to consult a doctor,
  3. People who drive motor vehicles, after taking the drug, may experience visual and concentration disturbances, as well as prolonged reaction time on the road.

Allergocrom – interactions

When using Allergocrom eye drops, inform your doctor about all medications you are taking, even those without a prescription.

There are no data on the interaction of the preparation with other drugs.

In the case of simultaneous use of Allergocrom and other ophthalmic preparations, there should be a few minutes interval between the successive administrations of drugs.

Allergocrom – side effects

Allergocrom eye drops can also cause side effects, but they do not necessarily occur in everyone.

During the use of the drug, the following may occur:

  1. eye irritation
  2. baking,
  3. sensation of the presence of a foreign body in the eye,
  4. conjunctival hyperemia and swelling.
