The Castellonense town of VillaReal celebrates a special tapas route suitable for all visitors, even if they are allergic.
For a month, from April 2 to May 3, the IX Tapa Route will be held in Villa Real to consolidate itself as one of the gastronomic references of this type of event on the Mediterranean coast.
Making it coincide with the Holy Week festivities, the event will surely gather a large number of visitors, as on previous occasions, reaching more than 30 establishments on this occasion.
The hospitality establishments that have joined the event, have launched their kitchens to result in exquisite bites that will captivate the entire local population and visitors without exception, since the great novelty of the gastronomic meeting is the preparation of tapas serving to the new legislation in force allergenic components in food.
Each proposal will carry with it detailed information on the foods they contain and, if applicable, the type of allergen that it may present, as the new legislation out of the 14 typified components indicates.
In all the Flyers and Guides that are distributed throughout the participating establishments, there is detailed information on each cover and its components.
As in the past editions of the route, locals can prepare, if they deem appropriate, tapas suitable for Celiacs, to help this intolerant population that is growing more and more, to enjoy the culinary elaborations that bars, restaurants and inns of the national geography offer us every day.
There is no excuse for not coming to the municipality and only for the modest price of € 2,5, we will have the chosen tapa and a soft drink to be able to contribute our opinion and participate in the event in any of the establishments such as Victoria Bar, Bokatapa, Booncata, My Sweet Temptation, El Racó de Pepa, Ca Alex Restaurant, Tasca El Cantó, etc...
To find out the winner of the contest, the organization of the event has appointed a professional jury, which will be made up of people related to the sector and personalities of the municipality.

- Vicente Patiño (Restaurant Gambrinus Borrull, of Castellón)
- Juan José Medina (Muun Club Restaurant, de Benicàssim)
- Inma Cubells (Bar Restaurant Musical, de Nules)
- Miguel Barrera (Cal Paradís Restaurant, in Vall d’Alba)
- Conchita Ibáñez (president of the Vila-real Housewives and Consumers Association).
