There are many ways to make an omelet. For all its simplicity, there are a few tricks to keep your omelet plump, healthy, and mouth-watering.
There are more eggs than milk
The main condition for a fluffy omelet is the correct consistency. It should be gentle, fluid, but by no means dense. In terms of the ratio of milk and eggs, the latter should be much larger so that the omelet does not turn out rubbery from milk.
The whisk is in business!
Beat the omelet with a whisk, not with a blender, and not too long, otherwise there is a risk of over-whipping the omelet and it will quickly fall off after cooking or be too loose. To get rid of protein clumps, pass the egg mass through a sieve. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with milk and spices, and in the second, prepare additional ingredients for the omelet. And only then, through a sieve, pour all the ingredients with the milk-egg mixture.
What besides milk and eggs?
Some recipes use semolina or flour – these ingredients will give the omelet the desired shape and density, as well as add volume. Starch and yeast perform the same function.
Pan
Take a frying pan for frying omelet with a non-stick coating so that the finished dish literally slides along the bottom and does not burn. If you have a frying pan with a removable handle, grate the cheese onto a barely-set omelet and place in the oven.
Fresh eggs
Eggs for the omelet should be very fresh, preferably homemade. Bad eggs, despite your best efforts, will ruin the omelet. For frying, choose butter or aromatic vegetable oil.
Vitaminize the dish
Many ingredients are suitable for the filling. Vegetables will add vitamins, bright color and taste to the omelet. It can be tomatoes, bell peppers, potatoes, zucchini, mushrooms, onions, ham, any herbs – fresh or dried.
Sweet omelet – why not?
You can make a sweet omelet by adding sweet jam or preserves to the finished dish, as well as maple or grape syrup.
Add cheese
It is good to add creamy soft cheeses – mascarpone or Philadelphia to the omelette for taste. Such an omelet will taste very delicate. Fish and seafood go well with cream cheese.
