All the questions we ask ourselves about baby!

My baby cries every night

We don’t worry. These tears are said to be ‘discharge’ or called ‘false colic’. They appear at the end of the day for no real apparent reason. You just have to be patient, they usually go away on their own around 4 months. While waiting for the baby to calm down, we reassure him with a big hug. Finally, know that a toddler cries on average nearly 3 hours a day.

My baby hiccups very often

Very common in newborns, hiccups appear already before birth, it results in small bursts. The nerve that controls the diaphragm muscle triggers these rhythmic contractions. Most often it is because nyour child ate too fast. However, there is no risk, and the baby can even continue to drink from the bottle.

When he wakes up my baby’s eyes are all glued together

After one night, babies sometimes have dry secretions, small scabs in the corners of the eyes. This means that the tear duct is blocked or not sufficiently permeable. Thus, the tears stagnate and eventually dry up. These secretions must therefore be eliminated quickly. To do this, moisten his eyes with physiological serum or mineral water. Then, we gently pass a cotton pad over the eyes, going from the inside to the outside. We make sure to use a different cotton for each eye. And if the problem persists, we talk to the doctor.

My baby still has cold extremities

A baby of a few weeks fears the cold. His thermoregulation system is still immature therefore its internal temperature lacks consistency. But we don’t worry, we resist the urge to overheat our room. The temperature should be moderate: 19 ° C. In terms of equipment, pajamas and a sleeping bag are ideal.

After his bottle, my baby seems to be hungry again

It will surely be necessary to offer him a larger quantity in the next bottle. We can talk to our doctor. However, it is important not to add powder to the same amount of water. The dosage must be respected: one scoop of powder for 30 ml of water. Overdose can cause constipation.

How do I know my baby is hungry?

We will quickly see that our newborn has an alarm clock built into his stomach! So he cries as soon as he’s hungry. The first few weeks, it is better to satisfy him as soon as he asks, then he will adopt on his own a more regular rhythm of about one bottle approximately every 4 hours. We don’t force him if he refuses to drink it on the pretext that it is time.

Looks like my baby has a stomach ache after his bottle

Baby might be doing a colic. Painful, these attacks are classic in children under 3 months. His abdomen is sometimes bloated and gasping. He may cry stridently and turns red. His intestine is in full construction hence this physiological disorder. To calm him down, we have the choice between several methods: lukewarm hot water bottle on the stomach, thehomeopathy or / and a massage soft. We will also find that the position that calms him the most is to put him on his stomach pressed against our hand or installed on our knees.

My baby has a belly button that sticks out

It is frequent and benign. It’s about a herniaumbilical, a small part of the intestine coming out of its cavity. The hernia will regress spontaneously as the child moves and muscles the abdomen. By 2-3 years, it should be completely gone.

My baby is all hairy

Baby may have been born covered with a fine down on the back, shoulders and even on the face. Do not worry, it disappears from the first months. Be aware that this type of hair is often present in brown babies.

I feel like my baby is squinting

We can indeed see a slight strabismus in babies. If he’s squinting lightly, it’s because his eye movements aren’t quite coordinated yet. Generally, no intervention is necessary, strabismus corrects quickly. If you find that it worsens or becomes permanent, see an eye doctor. Also know that it can be a simple optical effect. The hollow between your baby’s eyes (the epicanthus) is flatter than in an adult.

My baby has cradle cap

Cephenomenon is benign. Your child’s scalp is oily because it produces a lot of seborrhea. And as it dries, this excess causes so-called ‘milk crusts’ since they occur during the first weeks, when he drinks milk exclusively. You can prevent them from happening by rubbing their head gently and rinsing them with running water. To eliminate them, apply pure petroleum jelly while laying it down and the next day, shampoo it with a neutral pH soap.
