It is inviting more and more in our dishes, and for good reasons! Turmeric offers many health benefits. A quick overview to better understand this spice from India and Malaysia.

Turmeric, also called turmeric, is known for its beautiful intense yellow color. It is recognized for many health benefits. What are they ?

“Thousands of studies have been published about it over the past ten years. Its polyphenolic pigments, called curcuminoids, have revealed leading anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, ”explains Dr. Franck Gigon, a specialist in medicinal plants.

3. Turmeric, an anti-cancer?

Turmeric has many “powers.” Amazing in one and the same plant. To be more precise, it is curcumin (the orange-yellow pigment) that has all these virtues. Examples include its ability to prevent and fight cancer naturally. Researchers in 2011 proved that curcumin can stop a deadly type of brain cancer called glioblasthone.

In addition, the curcumin present in the body targets its action and only attacks cancer cells, without damaging others. Curcumin also stops breast cancer from moving (this is referred to as cancer cell motility), inhibits the growth of pancreatic cancer cells, promotes lung cancer cancer cell death, reduces cancer-related inflammation, helps your body to destroy mutant cells, prevents the development of blood vessels that nourish the tumor.

4. Excellent for treating skin problems

Do you suffer from eczema? Psoriasis? Turmeric can help. Discover it as a poultice to treat redness or plaques. Mix a teaspoon of turmeric powder with a little water to form a homogeneous paste. Apply the mixture to the affected areas, wait ten to fifteen minutes then remove and rinse.

5. Which turmeric should I consume?

Is there a turmeric among others to promote to get the most of all these virtues? Whenever possible, choose a dietary supplement containing 100% curcumin, preferably organic.

The best turmeric should not contain any additives, excipients or preservatives. Curry also contains curcumin, but much less than turmeric. So prefer turmeric! For your body to benefit from curcumin, consume 3 grams three to four times a day.
