Alexandra Rosenfeld, Miss France 2005 et Miss Europe 2006, has just launched a line of clothing for children aged 2 to 8. On the program: tropical, original and vintage patterns. Enough to bring some pep to the dressing of our little wolves … all in a relaxed style. How did he get this idea? What are his inspirations?
Back from Polynesia, where she participated in the Miss Tahiti 2014 election, Alexandra Rosenfeld, young mother of a 3 and a half year old Ava, gave us an interview. She tells us everything …
What made you want to create a clothing line, and more specifically for children?
It was when I became a mother that this idea crossed my mind. Then when CFoot, the TV channel I worked for closed, I thought it was a good time. With a friend, I first created an online concept store: chezalexetchantal.com. We offer collections from several young designers in order to regularly have new products. Then, I decided to take the plunge and create my own collection.
With all these tropical prints and planes, your collection takes us on a journey. How did you choose the fabrics, the patterns and the different cuts?
For this first collection, I chose the patterns. They evoke escape, imagination, it’s very playful. It is a fresh collection, very comfortable to wear. I wanted clothes that were chic but in which the children would feel comfortable, which is why I opted for cotton. I also wanted to adapt the adult style in children. Me, I’m in a sweatshirt and sneakers all the time. I was a real tomboy before I was Miss France. I’m very sporty. But I like to go from one extreme to the other too. Wear joggers during the day and gala dresses at night!
And your little girl, is she also a tomboy or rather a model little girl?
It’s a mini-me. She will soon be 4 years old and start to want to choose her clothes. I begin to distinguish his tastes. Of course she wears my designs, and I try to vary the styles. But at home, she loves to dress up as a princess.
Perhaps it is your journey of Miss and the crown that inspires her …
Not at all. She doesn’t know that I was Miss France. I never told him. She sees other misses coming to the house but does not yet realize what that means. I’ll talk to him about it later …
Managing your concept store, your clothing line takes time… How do you reconcile your life as a young mother and an entrepreneur?
I am on all fronts. The site is something that takes a lot of my time. At 18 p.m., I pick up my daughter from school, I take care of her. And as soon as she is in bed. Rebelote, I’m getting back to it. It’s non-stop!
Relentless work that pays off as its clothing line is attracting more and more people. Moreover, if the trend is confirmed, another collection should follow… If you too have fallen for these pieces which revisit runway trends, visit the site chezalexetchantal.com. On the price side, count 25 euros for a T-shirt at 40 euros for a sweatshirt.
In apart:
Responsible for the Names section on Infobabies, I couldn’t resist asking her how she had chosen the first name of her daughter Ava. “I chose this first name when I was 16 years old. My grandparents were big movie buffs. One day they told me about Ava Gardner. I fell in love with this name. And then all of its meanings are super pretty. It means “life” and “to give life” in Hebrew. I found it very beautiful. “ |
