Partying for a few days or “fighting a hangover” can not only be a sign of an alcohol problem, but also have a negative effect on the body. There are many consequences of drinking over a few days, and most of them are extremely dangerous.
- Drinking alcohol is a constant intoxication that lasts more than a day
- While many people believe that drinking one or two beers a day is not harmful to them, it may actually be the beginning of an alcoholism disorder.
- Drinking several days in a row may result in, among other things, stroke and cirrhosis of the liver

Alcohol string
An alcoholic drink is a situation of constant intoxication that lasts more than a day. For many people, the reason for remaining in this sequence is the malaise accompanying the moment of sobering up, i.e. simply a hangover. Consuming another dose of alcohol in such a case often temporarily prevents unpleasant symptoms, but it can cause serious effects on our health.

Drinking for days in a row. One beer a day can also be harmful
Many people feel that drinking one or two beers a day (“to relax”) is not harmful to them. In fact, these may be the beginning of an alcoholism disorder. Such people can quickly learn about the negative effects of their practices. Abrupt cessation of this ritual may trigger some of them withdrawal syndrome. Then they will feel anxiety, irritability and all kinds of pain. These are the first warning signals from the body.
Partying all weekend has its consequences
The alcohol sequence does not only apply to people who are in the advanced stages of alcoholism. This problem also affects many people who, for example, party all weekend. Consuming another dose of alcohol after a night of drinking only shifts the hangover time, which is likely to be even stronger then. Although many people believe that this is the only side effect of this practice, the actual harm to the body can be more serious. Internal organs can suffer.

Alcohol string. Dangerous acetaldehyde
According to Dr. John Patrick Cullen, who works at the University of Rochester in New York, it is not alcohol itself that is a problem when we drink a lot, but acetaldehyde that builds up. This is a chemical that the liver pumps out of itself when the alcohol is broken down. Acetaldehyde causes, inter alia, hangover.
When we drink a lot, acetaldehyde bypasses the liver. which is able to process only small amounts of it, and goes directly through the blood to the brain, heart and stomach. This phenomenon is exacerbated by drinking for the second day in a row. Then the trickle of aldehyde and other harmful substances in the bloodstream turns into a real flood. If this happens, serious organ damage may result. Obviously, the longer such an alcohol rush lasts, the more serious its effects can be.
The alcohol thrust exposes the body to:
- destruction of internal organs, especially kidneys and pancreas
- stroke
- hypertension
- inflammation of the stomach and duodenum
- fatty liver and cirrhosis
- heart problems
- gastroesophageal reflux
- low blood sugar
Mental effects are also possible, such as:
- hallucinations
- anxiety
- Othello syndrome (alcoholic insanity)
In the worst case, long alcohol strings can even lead to death due to multi-organ failure.
Alcohol – You need moderation
A three-day string that results in you being absent from work or avoiding other responsibilities may be the first sign that a person has a problem with alcohol. In this case, steps for treatment should be taken immediately.
