Albothyl is used for the topical treatment of bacterial vaginosis. Polikrezulen contained in the drug acts selectively on the proteins of necrotic and pathologically changed tissues, it does not affect healthy tissues, while its acidic reaction destroys bacteria. Do not use the drug during menstruation. The preparation is in the form of over-the-counter vaginal globules. Should be used at night.

Albothyl – indications and dosage
Albothyl is vaginal globules: the topical treatment for bacterial vaginosis.
Dosage: vaginally, at night. Before application, the globule can be moistened with water. 1 × / d or every 2nd day. Use until symptoms disappear, no longer than 9 days.
Albothyl and contraindications
Contraindications to use are:
- hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation.
- Do not use during menstruation.
Albothyl – warnings
- Albothyldvaginal for topical use (do not swallow; avoid contact with eyes).
- The spots on the surface of the globules do not affect the effectiveness and safety of the preparation.
- During the treatment period, do not use traditional soaps for intimate hygiene due to the risk of irritation.
- Albothyl preparation stimulates the elimination of dead and diseased cells as well as the healing and renewal of the epithelium; separation of necrotic tissues from lesions is a symptom of the therapeutic effect of the preparation and is not cause for concern.
- Albothylly prevents HIV infections and other sexually transmitted diseases (gonorrhea, syphilis).
- It is not recommended for use in women under 18 years of age or in menopausal women; there are no data on the use of the preparation in these age groups.
- If signs of local irritation appear, discontinue use of the drug and consult a physician.
- If the fabric is dirty, rinse immediately with water before the stain dries.
- Use in pregnant and breastfeeding women only after consulting a doctor and only when absolutely necessary, when in the doctor’s opinion the benefit for the mother outweighs the potential risk for the child. There are no data on the safety of the preparation in this period.
Albothyl – interactions
During treatment with Albothyl, the use of other drugs vaginally should be avoided.
Albothyl – side effects
There may be:
- shedding of mucous membrane scraps,
- vaginal dryness
- itching
- feeling of discomfort
- vaginal candidiasis,
- hives
- generalized urticaria
- angioedema
- anaphylactic reaction.
