Air humidifier: pros and cons

Air humidifier: pros and cons

Do you want to feel good? Create a supportive environment in your home. After all, the main thing in this business is clean air. And this is very easy to do. Andrei Malyavin, Doctor of Medical Sciences, General Director of the Center for Respiratory Medicine, helped us figure out what to have in the house and what to change.

1. Install an air purifier at home

It’s up to you, but let’s immediately figure out what devices the market offers today and what you really need.

Air purifier. A good thing. Has a multi-level cleaning system – from 4 to 8 levels. Filters the air from house mites and mushroom spores. There are additional ionization, humidification.

Humidifier. Doesn’t clean the air. Makes sense where there is excessive dryness. For example, in houses with central heating.

Ozonizer. You have to be very careful with him. Especially when using an industrial ozonizer. It is used only in the absence of people in the room. Ozone is a strong oxidizing agent that can damage mucous membranes.

Ionizer. The situation with him is difficult. The first kind of ionizer is the Chizhevsky chandelier. The idea is certainly correct, because we live in the era of deionization, we have monitors around us. But sooner or later, the thing becomes just a dust collector. Additional ionization is provided by granite, but one stone is not enough here. It must be a powerful building. For example, some metro stations are made of granite, there is additional ionization of the air.

Air conditioning. It’s a good thing, but you definitely need to keep an eye on it, because often the air conditioner turns from an air purifier into a source of dust collection.

2. Take care of the installed air purifier

Necessarily! You need to clean all the above devices regularly, only then there will be an effect. And this is a very important point. Otherwise, your device will have a negative effect.

3. Free the room from unnecessary “dust collectors”

Remove carpets and carpets. These are sources of dust. And for cleaning, use microfiber rags so that they do not raise fine dust. Store books in cabinets under glass, otherwise they also become an ordinary dust collector.

4. Do not keep animals at home

Their dandruff and saliva are sources of pollution. And animals are not intended for life at home.

As for the plants, then choose for yourself. If you want – let them grow. But they do not carry any medicinal properties, they do not purify the air.

5. After a leak, be sure to make repairs.

If a leak occurs in the house, then a house mushroom will begin to grow (its spores are a powerful allergen). Therefore, be sure to make repairs with an antifungal treatment.

6. Do not skimp on finishing materials

When choosing finishing materials, ask for a hygiene certificate. If you have one, you can take it. Don’t buy cheap. You can’t save on housing at all, this is the place where we spend most of our lives.

7. Buy a modern vacuum cleaner

Better with a HEPA filter (with a fine air purification system), because an ordinary vacuum cleaner only raises fine dust, and does not catch it.
