Agri-food innovation from the hand of Orizont

Orizont the agri-food accelerator created in 2015 again seeks to promote and enhance innovation and the development of the business fabric of the agri-food sector.

Behind him he already has more than 12 initiatives that were made known in the first editions of Orizont, taken from the more than 400 startups that were presented in each of them.

The idea, seeking to innovate with a business mentality in the fields of food, agriculture, and in their auxiliary sectors.

In this new call for the project led by the Navarra Development Society (SODENA) they are looking for up to eight startups from any agri-food subsector, which provide business innovation and scalability.

There are already three editions that Orizont has behind its back, and this time the round of financing to continue with the initial development of each business will be up to € 110.000.

Once again, its objective will be to attract talent, promote innovation and promote entrepreneurship.

What does the Orizont accelerator offer?

A complete six-month program, starting in September and until March 2018, where they will participate in a training model designed by the European Business and Innovation Center of Navarra (CEIN), who will advise projects on business opportunities, networking, feasibility and possible market entry and the development of an effective business plan.

Along the way, important advances will be developed within the strategic plans of each project, studying the market, its niche or segment and even being able to prototype the product or service that they propose.

In the field of people, the skills of entrepreneurs will be developed and worked, with contacts, meetings and training to better handle themselves in the commercial and negotiation field.

All this will be carried out in the facilities of the Agrifood City of Tudela (CAT), a pioneering business park in the sector with more than one million square meters, which has a large number of services and infrastructures.

The startups accelerated in the first two editions already have a product for sale and have also found new investors to continue with their project.

skyline, will give access to the winners to more than 30 important companies in the sector, as well as to a wide panel of collaborators, including research centers and universities.

In order to be able to decide which proposals are the most interesting, viable and differentiating, the jury for this third edition will be made up of:

  • The Government of Navarra
  • The Navarra Development Society (SODENA)
  • The Spanish Federation of Food and Beverage Industries (FIAB)
  • The National Center for Food Safety and Technology (CNTA)
  • The IESE Business School
  • The Coca-Cola Company

The deadline for the registration of candidatures will be open until April 12, and those selected will be announced in a ceremony that will take place on June 8.
