Aesthetic education of preschool children: development, methods and goals
Aesthetic education of preschool children is a direction of pedagogy, which is designed to teach young members of society to understand and appreciate beauty. A child must learn to see beauty everywhere: in art, work, nature and even the everyday sphere.
Tasks and goals of aesthetic education
A true esthete has the ability to see beauty in all manifestations of life, to evaluate, analyze and have personal ideas about beauty. From the very first years of life, the baby is drawn to everything bright, colorful and attractive, but this happens unconsciously. A little later, the child begins to receive light and joyful feelings from the slightest contact with beauty.
Parents, caregivers and educators should strive to:
- to form a harmonious personality;
- develop in the baby the ability to see and appreciate beauty;
- encourage and develop creativity;
- contribute to the emergence of aesthetic tastes and ideals.
In the future, on these bases, the inner wealth of a person is formed.
Features of aesthetic development in the family
The most effective way is a personal example of a father, mother, educator, teacher or any adult with whom the child communicates with the dough. The appearance, character traits, demeanor and communication style of such a person lays a big imprint on the child’s personality and forms the basis of his aesthetic perception.
Family education of a little esthete consists of several aspects:
- an atmosphere of respect and love between family members;
- discipline, neat clothing;
- education of musical taste;
- reading books, learning poetry;
- drawing using different techniques;
- entertaining and interesting conversations at a level accessible to the child;
- decoration of living quarters and children’s room, harmony of shades, order and cleanliness.
From the very first years of life, such a family environment develops a sense of beauty in the child.
Methods of aesthetic education in kindergarten
In preschool institutions, educators conduct conversations with children, matinees, evenings, excursions and various activities. Visiting exhibitions, theaters and museums also plays an important role.
It is important to encourage amateur performances. To do this, you can conduct creativity lessons, where each kid has the opportunity to complete the task, guided solely by his own concepts and ideas.
Aesthetic education is a long-term process that begins from birth and continues until the end of a person’s life.
