Adnexitis and pregnancy: how to cure adnexitis in early pregnancy
Adnexitis is an inflammatory process of the internal female genital organs: ovaries, appendages, fallopian tubes. It can be chronic and acute. And also to strike at the same time either several or any one organ. If adnexitis is not detected in time and treatment is not started, the disease can also affect the external genital organs of a woman, manifesting itself with itching, burning, redness and inflammation.
Adnexitis during pregnancy
What is adnexitis and what are its symptoms?
Adnexitis and pregnancy are often accompanied phenomena, since pregnant women are at an increased risk zone. Due to weakened immunity, they are more susceptible to various diseases. More often, women who have previously encountered this disease suffer from adnexitis.
First of all, adnexitis is caused by the following infections: streptococcus, chlamydia, mycoplasmosis, Escherichia coli, etc. But external factors can also provoke the onset of the disease, such as:
- hypothermia;
- low immunity;
- lack of hygiene;
- stress;
- hormonal changes;
- change in the location of organs.
The infection itself does not always provoke adnexitis. But when a woman registers for pregnancy, she is prescribed an analysis for infectious diseases for early detection and prevention of the disease.
Adnexitis in early pregnancy: treatment
Adnexitis during pregnancy can appear at any time, but more often it attacks the body of a pregnant woman in the first trimester, when the woman’s immunity is most suppressed. In such cases, it is important to diagnose the cause of its appearance in time. Depending on the cause of the disease, treatment is prescribed. But first of all, it is necessary to relieve inflammation and carry out a powerful antibacterial procedure.
Unfortunately, in such cases, you cannot do without antibiotics, which quickly eliminate the inflammatory focus. Together with antibiotics, drugs are prescribed to support immunity. After completing the course of antibiotics, it is necessary to begin treatment of the vaginal microflora. Since adnexitis disrupts blood circulation, the baby may receive less nutrients and oxygen from the mother’s blood, therefore, in the complex, it is worth treating the placenta with special drugs.
With timely intervention, outpatient treatment will last about 2 weeks. But in the future, the expectant mother will have to listen very carefully to her body in order to avoid a relapse of the disease.
