Acquired erythema of hands and feet

Syn.: Red hepatic palms, erythema palmare et plantare symptomaticum.

Def.: Reddening of the hands and sometimes also the feet in the course of liver diseases.

Epid .: It occurs at any age, more often in the elderly.

Etiol .: Coexists with chronic liver dysfunction.

Lock: The skin of the hands, less often the feet.

Wedge: Redness of the hands, and in a few cases also the feet. The changes are acquired in nature and accompany chronic liver disorders. An additional symptom is changes in the nail plates – milky color or numerous striations.

DR: Family erythema of hands and feet, erythematous changes in the course of pregnancy, rheumatoid arthritis, hyperthyroidism or cancer of internal organs.

But.: No reports.

Year: Individually dependent, sometimes changes disappear without leaving a trace.
