Acorn-fed ham fair in the Plaza Mayor of Madrid

The Bellot Iberian Ham Faira is a gastronomic event with cultural, tourist and commercial purposes in which an unprecedented tribute is paid to acorn-fed Iberian ham.

The best dryers dedicated to the production of products derived from the Iberian pig, fed exclusively on acorn, come together in one of the maximum expressions of respect and admiration for the jewel par excellence of Spanish gastronomy.

The characteristics of the event that is presented make it an excellent tourist attraction, and the 125.000 people present in the Plaza Mayor in Madrid in its first edition attest to this.

The Acorn-fed Iberian Ham Fair is an event that transfers the entire culture of this delicacy to society, which provides the producer sector with an additional marketing channel and which exalts our most valued culinary product at an international level, only comparable to caviar, foie gras and white truffle.

The Plaza Mayor of Madrid, one of the most emblematic spaces of the capital, will host from October 31 to November 3 the second edition of the Acorn-fed Iberian Ham Fair, a true gastronomic festival and a good opportunity to get into knowledge and the pleasure of enjoying this unique Spanish product in the world.

The four denominations of origin of Iberian ham Extremadura, Guijuelo, Los Pedroches and Jamón de Huelva will be present, represented by four of their best brands and the skill of four professional ham cutters, among them Florencio Sanchidrián, considered the best Master Cutter in the world and usual ambassador of Spanish ham in international events.

Sanchidrián will carry out various commented court demonstrations; In addition, free classes will be given on the appearance, cutting and conservation of acorn-fed Iberian ham; they will compete for the National Championship of Ham Cutters; and the popular presenter and showman Goyo González will liven up the planned activities.

The entire event is designed to enhance its name and to pay an unprecedented tribute to this delicacy. The Event is developed from respect and admiration, taking maximum care of its image and quality, because we want it to finish achieving the recognition that not all Spaniards currently profess, and that it does find abroad.

The event, which will take place in a special 1.200-square-meter tent, is free to enter and visitors will be able to savor dishes of freshly cut acorn-fed Iberian ham at the affordable price of 8 euros, as well as tapas, wine pairing and beers.
