Pyoderma is a severe clinical form of acne vulgaris characterized by the presence of purulent cysts. The lesions are extensive and may persist over a long period of time. However, the ailment does not occur in everyone who struggles with acne vulgaris. Purulent lesions very often leave behind scars.
What is pyoderma?
Acne is a condition that affects many people. In its course, numerous blackheads appear on the skin, which are unsightly and very often take away self-confidence from many people. In some people, acne is an expression of puberty, and in others, it indicates hormonal disorders that should be consulted with a dermatologist or endocrinologist. One of the most troublesome types of acne is pyoderma.
The lesions occurring in its course are characterized by purulent eczema, most often located on the face, back and chest. Unfortunately, they are difficult to mask, stay on the skin for a long time and can lead to embarrassing acne scars. Both men and women are exposed to this ailment, but men are more often at risk. It should be emphasized that purulent lesions do not occur in everyone suffering from acne vulgaris. Pyoderma may appear as a result of a hormonal imbalance.
When you want to regenerate acne-affected skin, use Aknea anti-acne serum with mint, thyme and hemp oil with a caring and soothing effect. You can also try the Sylveco smoothing serum with bakuchiol 1%, which you can buy at a promotional price on Medonet Market.
Mechanism of the formation of pyoderma
The formation of this type of acne vulgaris is related to the hormonal changes taking place in the body, so it usually occurs in young people in their adolescence. Acne, as mentioned above, occurs regardless of gender (both in women and men).
The dominant cause of its formation is disorders in the production of androgens and testosterone, which stimulates the sebaceous glands of the skin to produce sebum. Blocking the opening of the gland causes sebum to accumulate inside it, and the bacteria and fungi that add to it cause purulent eczema.
Most of these types of lesions are painful, itchy, and red. Do not scratch or squeeze the acne lesions as this can spread bacteria and fungi across the skin. To reduce sebum production and fight skin inflammation, use Orientana Tonic for combination skin with ginger and lemongrass. We also recommend Green Montmorillonite clay for skin care.

People with acne vulgaris, who do not care enough about acne lesions, are at risk of transforming ordinary acne into a purulent form. In addition, people who have problems with various bacteria and fungi on the skin are exposed to pyoderma. Diet and the use of appropriate cosmetics, which should thoroughly wash off makeup, play an important role. In addition, stress, alcohol abuse and cigarette smoking have a negative effect on our skin.
If you have acne problems, use Surgras Aleppo Soap Co. Olive Laurel Sulfur Cleansing Soap for your skin. by Tadé, which you can buy at a promotional price on Medonet Market. How to treat pyoderma?
Treatment of this ailment is quite complicated and long-lasting – it should always be carried out under the supervision of a dermatologist. During treatment, the patient should be patient in order to achieve the best possible treatment results. In the course of this disease, doctors very often use prescription antibiotics and retinoids. They can be used topically or orally.
These preparations stimulate the skin’s defense properties and accelerate regeneration, additionally reduce inflammation and remove bacteria that cause purulent lesions from the skin. With these types of antibiotics, additional protective drugs should be used, because the treatment is a burden on the body. If no improvement is observed after three months of therapy, the antibiotic should be changed.

In addition to prescription drugs, you can invest in over-the-counter medications and pharmacies. Hypoallergenic and ecological cosmetics and pharmacy products containing fruit acids have beneficial effects. Some patients recommend zinc or ichthyol ointment to be applied directly to purulent blemishes.
For acne skin care, use Bioherba Natural Tonic for acne and hyperpigmentation skin, and after cleansing your face, apply Sevolium Cream for oily, acne-prone and spotty skin.
In the treatment of pyogenic acne, reading the ingredients of cosmetics is also of great importance. Avoid products containing mineral oils, silicones, dyes, and irritating preservatives that clog the pores. People struggling with purulent lesions should stop using mechanical peels and replace them with enzymatic peels that easily dissolve dead skin cells (without additional rubbing).
For the duration of treatment, it is worth eliminating salty, spicy and fatty foods from the diet; alcohol; peanuts; cocoa; fast-food. A daily diet should include plenty of vegetables and fruits, dairy products and eggs. A large amount of vitamin A, as well as B, D, E and K should be supplied to the body.
Pyoderma leaves unsightly scars. It is therefore worth thinking about specialized cosmetic procedures, e.g. microdermabrasion – peeling or laser removal of acne scars.
Specialists often recommend chemical peeling, which is performed with AHA acids (e.g. mandelic acid), triiodoacetic acid or pyruvic acid. The peeling can be performed using microdermabrasion, i.e. abrasion of subsequent layers of the epidermis. The advantage of this treatment is the low risk of discoloration and scars, and the effects are visible immediately afterwards.
For home use, we recommend the Face Peeling to reduce the visibility of pores Fruit Acid Peel with AHA and BHA acids. After peeling, it is worth applying a suitable cream on your face, eg Peach Perilla Cream for oily skin and combination skin with imperfections.
You can also do the peeling yourself at home using EPTA AC washing peeling for oily and acne skin, which you can buy separately on Medonet Market or in the EPTA AC Set for Cleansing and Care of Oily and Acne Skin.
In turn, dermabrasion is the removal of the epidermis either mechanically or with a laser. Contrary to microdermabrasion, this procedure is more drastic as the epidermis is rubbed down to the blood vessels. Dermabrasion helps remove deep scars.
Another treatment is cryotherapywhich is performed using liquid nitrogen. During the treatment, the affected skin is frozen and then thawed (this pattern is repeated in several cycles). Cryotherapy gives a very good cosmetic effect.
