Achilles tendinitis affects the largest structure of this type in the human body. The cause of the ailments is in most cases overload during excessive physical exertion, e.g. jogging. The treatment process of Achilles tendinitis is often arduous and lengthy. This is due to the fact that this structure is poorly vascularized, therefore the healing processes of the damage are significantly prolonged. How do I recognize the symptoms of Achilles tendinitis and what is the treatment for?
Achilles tendinitis – causes
The most common cause of Achilles tendinitis is trauma to this structure as a result of excessive overstrain. This type of situation occurs when the tendon is forced to work hard and long. This applies to a range of physical activities that are based on running fast.
Achilles tendonitis is said to be the most common runner’s injury, and it tends to recur. The problem affects people of all ages, however, it should be remembered that over time the fibers that build the tendon decrease their elasticity and strength, which makes them more easily injured. Achilles tendinitis will be more common in people who increase the intensity of their exercise too quickly and skip warm-up.

When taking these drugs, always follow the instructions of your doctor or pharmacist and the dosage of the drug. It should also be remembered that drugs from this group show a ceiling effect, which means that they show a therapeutic effect in a specific dose. The greater the number of tablets taken does not mean that the analgesic effect is increased.
In the case of Achilles tendonitis, it is necessary to temporarily withdraw from training or limit its intensity. This allows for faster regeneration of the structure and prevents the risk of secondary injuries. Physiotherapeutic treatments, during which stretching exercises are performed, are helpful in the treatment of Achilles tendinitis. Massages of the sore spot are also a good way to speed up the healing processes.
