Acclimatization of a person on vacation

One of the few disadvantages of a short vacation is the agony of acclimatization. Only 20% of travelers are not exposed to them. Most should think about how to preserve their health.

Human acclimatization is the process of active adaptation of the body to unfamiliar climatic conditions. Our usual environment and our body are in harmonious interaction. By changing the environment, we force the body to rebuild. The more the external conditions change, the more active this restructuring is.

However, it does not necessarily have a negative impact on human health. Doctors often recommend climate change to improve well-being, as well as general hardening. However, one must also remember that some diseases are incompatible with certain natural conditions. In case of joint diseases, an intense solar regime is generally contraindicated. And in the presence of chronic viral diseases, it is better to limit exposure to the sun. In case of respiratory diseases, it is not recommended to go to resorts with high humidity, but dry warm air, on the contrary, will be beneficial. The sun, if not overused, is generally good for most skin conditions.

The main symptoms of acclimatization are drowsiness, headaches, loss of energy, in rare cases, exacerbations of chronic diseases are possible. A weakened organism generally has a hard time acclimatization. Therefore, no matter how paradoxical it sounds, you need to recover before any, especially short, vacation.

Vitamins A, E and C should be taken both before and during the trip.

Streamline your daily routine. If possible, shift it slightly in accordance with the time zone of the country where you plan to travel. Think about vitamins, which the body always lacks, and especially in the spring. Fruits, vegetables, cereals, lactic acid products are useful not only for general well-being, but also for the figure and complexion. So you won’t go wrong. Vitamins A, E and C should be taken both before and during the trip.

Don’t try to embrace the immensity at work. A future vacationer often experiences a pang of conscience in front of his colleagues and, days before leaving, works as if he had decided to do all the work for the year ahead. Do not think that in a couple of days of your absence the earth will open up and the end of the world will come. Ordinary work problems will be solved by colleagues or will wait for your return (fortunately, it will not be long), but you still cannot foresee a terrible and sudden crisis. On the other hand, if you are overworked at work, you will turn your vacation into one big acclimatization.

Before traveling to hot countries (and most clearly the acclimatization period manifests itself there), go to a solarium – prepare your skin for warmth and ultraviolet light.

When you find yourself at a long-awaited resort, behave wisely. Come to terms with the idea that you will not be able to achieve a radically chocolate tan. On the first day, you should generally avoid contact with direct sunlight. Until 10 am and after 4 pm you can lie down under an umbrella and take a swim, not forgetting about sunscreen. The middle of the day is best spent in a shady and cool place. The ideal solution is a massage and relaxing treatment in the salon. You can spend more time on the beach on the following days, but an umbrella, a thick layer of sunscreen and plenty of fluids are essential.

Continue your diet. However, you shouldn’t deny yourself delicacies either – after all, this is a long-awaited vacation, a small island of joy in your life. Just eat fruit and be wary of overly exotic foods. Digestive upset due to unfamiliar food is useless for you. Reduce, if not completely eliminate, nicotine and alcohol use.

As much as possible, follow your usual daily routine. Try to get up and go to your own time rather than your local time. This is especially convenient in European resorts – after all, there you will turn into an early bird and will be able to spend a couple of extra hours in the completely harmless morning sun. These simple rules will help you, if not completely forget about acclimatization, then, in any case, minimize its symptoms. However, if you know you have the ability to go through a climate change and come to your senses for several days, plan your express vacation not far from your home or in a country with climatic conditions as close as possible to your usual climatic conditions.
