Everything in Color by Tom Champ
From 2 years. How does color create mood and what does it mean? Illustrator Tom Champ puns on how much everything in the world is associated with a certain color: the Beatles’ yellow submarine and New York taxi, Malevich’s black square and the Kremlin’s red stars, Bluebeard and a London telephone booth. Shamp created an album for the whole family: it is interesting to analyze color allusions at any age.

Leopard by Natalia Shaloshvili
“The leopard lives in the animal city, and at first everything was fine. She slept on a tree at night, and during the day she drove a yellow bus – she took other animals where they needed. But one day the animals decided that it would be faster to drive a car, and everyone switched to cars. Nobody wanted Leopard’s bus, and her tree was removed to build a road.
I don’t like driving. My mother and I walk and ride the tram, and when we have to travel far, I love the Lastochka train, they are very convenient and fast. The leopard in the book moved to a bicycle to set an example for the rest and show that it is not necessary to stand in traffic jams and smell the smoke. The bike does not puff, it is not stuffy, you can ride a race, it’s fun.
I liked the smart Leopard, she is kind and patient. She does not get angry at other animals and does not educate anyone, but simply does the right thing herself. And the Leopard is ready to wait a long time for a new tree to grow. We planted trees in our country house, I know that they will grow when I am very big.
It seems to me that the author wanted to show that there is no need to get angry, quarrel, or prove something to someone. The animals, when they stopped standing in traffic jams and being late, became more attentive to each other, kinder and planted a lot of trees so that the Leopard had a house and birds.
