In the world there is a huge number of alcoholic beverages that differ in strength, taste, aroma, method of preparation. But in our area, people who make alcohol at home, for the most part, drive moonshine. I am one of them.
My grandfather was engaged in this business, and I adopted his skills. Now the conditions for this activity are a little better. That is, there are a lot of shops with all kinds of gadgets, and there is also the Internet, where there is a lot of information and like-minded people.
This prompted me to experiment. That is, I learned about special flavors for moonshine, and decided to try them. I can share my experience with you.
What is it and why are you needed
When I found out about the existence of these flavors, I could not believe for a long time that this was true. That is, on the one hand, there is nothing strange here, because such substances have long been used in the food industry. What surprised me more was why I hadn’t thought of this before.

In simple terms, moonshine flavors are a concentrate of a certain taste and smell. It is made from natural or identical to natural ingredients. Its main task is to give the product (in this case moonshine) the desired taste and smell.

To be honest, I have used many variations of these concentrates. It’s hard to say for sure how good they are. On the one hand, the pure taste of moonshine can at least get bored, and in general it is not very pleasant.
But on the other hand, you understand that the taste obtained after the flavoring is still not real. Here everyone should try and make their own choice. The only thing I do not accept is attempts to pass off such, for example, “rum” as real.

They are best classified according to the flavors and aromas they can impart. That is, with regard to their production and use, everything is about the same here. But speaking of the end result, there are many differences.
If we single out specific types of flavors for moonshine, then one of them is an imitation of real alcoholic beverages. That is, your distillate can be turned into alcohol, similar to cognac, whiskey, rum, brandy, etc. There are even imitations of a specific brand.
The second type includes flavors, which simply add flavors and aromas to some products. In other words, they will make something that looks like a tincture or flavored vodka.
For example, imitating orange peels, walnuts, ginger, cranberries and more. I have tried both, but my preference has been to imitate another alcohol.
Important! It is better to purchase flavors in specialized stores, there are more chances not to get a fake.
Top 3 flavors in my opinion
As I said, I used many different flavors for moonshine. Naturally, I have my favorites. In the first place, I would put PRESTIGE Marty Romin Brandy, or, in other words, classic cognac. The taste is very soft, with a hint of chocolate.

Important! You can find cheaper options from Russian manufacturers, but, in my opinion, they are worse in quality.
How to use fragrances correctly
This is the easiest part of the whole process in my opinion. That is, no additional skills are required to use flavors for moonshine. The main thing to do is to find a good moonshine.
In other words, you need to make it as soft as possible and try to get rid of its unpleasant smell. This can be achieved in several ways. I either ran it several times, or added a bonus if I didn’t want to waste my time and energy.
After that, you need to achieve the desired fortress. It is advised to use raw materials not stronger than 60˚. Then all you have to do is pour the contents of the flavor vial into the distillate. Naturally, in this case, all the proportions that are indicated in the instructions on the bottle should be observed. Otherwise, the aroma and taste will be too cloying.
After that, the mixture must be mixed well and let it brew in a dark place for at least five days. I always wait for a week, stirring the mixture again occasionally. As already mentioned, there are a fairly large number of tastes, and a lifetime is not enough to try them all.
