She realized this only when she tried to transplant the plant. But it was a birthday present from friends!
There are natural-born flower growers, there are people who know how to build neutral relations with houseplants, and there are those who even have a cactus withering away. Kayleigh Wilkes was in the third category. Even a succulent, one of the most unpretentious plants, died in her. After this incident, Kayleigh completely said goodbye to the idea of landscaping the house. But friends gave her a new succulent – the sweetest, juicy, green. Kayleigh enthusiastically took care of him.
“It was just the perfect plant. I was really proud of him, this flower. He was so juicy, he looked so good. I took care of him with all my might: washed the leaves, developed a watering plan. If someone else had undertaken to water him, I would have killed him. In general, I loved this flower, ”says Kayleigh.
In general, the plant felt great. Kayleigh also perked up and decided to have a few more flowers, since it went well. And wow, they also started to grow! Did this donated succulent plant break the karma of a bad grower?
“And then I decided to transplant him. I found the cutest pot that fit him in size. I began to carefully pull my succulent from the pot in which it was purchased. And all for what? To find out that this flower is a fake! I put so much love into him. And it had no roots – just plastic sprinkled with sand! ” – Kayleigh was indignant.
She herself is surprised that she has not noticed a fake for two years. And he assures: the rest of her plants are not fake at all. They are real.
Kayleigh’s story went viral: 12 thousand people responded to it on Facebook alone. Moreover, surprisingly, there was no trolling – Kayleigh spoke so touchingly and with such self-irony about her unluckiness that people supported her. Now Kayleigh and her succulents even have an Instagram page.
“They’re real,” Kayleigh assures. – And I still transplanted my first flower and I will love it, despite the fact that it is made of plastic.
