Adam Torbicki fell victim to fraud and his image was used for advertising purposes. The wife of the cardiologist, journalist Grażyna Torbicka, publicized the matter in social media.

Famous people very often advertise products in cooperation with various brands. However, more and more often they complain that some companies illegally use their image to promote certain products, which would encourage potential consumers to buy. In such a situation, in the past, Małgorzata Rozenek-Majdan, who allegedly “advertised” slimming drops, Ewa Drzyzga, who was to encourage the purchase of a parasite remedy, or Martyna Wojciechowska, whose image was used to promote a slimming preparation. They all denied these reports, reported the cases to the police and recommended vigilance to other people.

Adam Torbicki also fell victim to scammers who created an advertisement for preparations allegedly lowering too high blood pressure and used the image of a cardiologist. His wife, Grażyna Torbicka, wrote about the whole incident on InstaStories, who warns against such advertisements.
»Don’t be fooled, this is fake news. Professor Adam Torbicki does not advertise anything. Lawyers reported this image infringement to the prosecutor’s office many times, to no avail, unfortunately » — the journalist wrote.

This is not the first time that Adam Torbicki has found himself in such a situation. In 2020, in an interview with the Pleiades, he confessed that it was then that he found out that his face and name are used for promotion dietary supplements, which he immediately reported to the prosecutor’s office, but the prosecutor’s office decided that the case would not be conducted as not having the characteristics of a prohibited act. Soon after, the image of a medic was used to advertise a preparation whose “name resembled a known medicine for cardiological problems”, however, had nothing to do with it. Adam Torbicki, who does not use social media, added that it is difficult for him to deny false information about him. In an interview with the portal, he emphasized that he would like to warn people who may unknowingly believe in such an advertisement.

Adam Torbicki is prof. dr. hab. n. med., who specializes in internal medicine, cardiology and angiology. He worked at the Medical Academy in Warsaw, he was also, inter alia, head of the Department of Internal Diseases of the Chest of the Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases in Warsaw and the Department of Pulmonary Circulation and Thromboembolic Diseases at the Medical Center of Postgraduate Education. He took the position of a professor at the Institute of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases, he was also the deputy director of this institution. In the years 2004–2007 he was the president of the Polish Society of Cardiology. From 2008, for three years he was a board member, and in 2010-2012 vice-president of the European Society of Cardiology. Currently, he works at the European Health Center in Otwock.
