Concerned about the state of health of people during the New Year holidays, scientists are sounding the alarm, urging residents of all countries to drink alcohol in limited quantities. They remind you that drinking a weekly dose of intoxicating drink or drinking daily leads to an increased risk of throat, mouth, or breast cancer. Therefore, doctors advise not to drink more than 14 units of alcohol per week.

Scientists, based on research, argue that people have ceased to feel an acceptable dose of alcohol for health and often drink a lethal amount of a drink containing alcohol in one sitting. This happens when the weekly abstinence from fun ends up drinking the “legal” alcohol for seven days.

According to doctors, you can drink no more than 14 units of alcohol per week. A glass of wine equates to 2,1 units, vodka, cognac and whiskey equals a unit, and half a liter of beer equals 2,8 units. Scientists advise this amount to be stretched over time. For example, for three days, and between them to take a break of two days, in order to harm health as little as possible and reduce the risk of diseases leading to death. In the meantime, doctors say, people do not hear their advice and therefore run the risk of developing breast and throat cancer.
