There was a tragedy in Manchester earlier this week. An 18-year-old girl fainted in the street and then died in the hospital. The reason for fainting was a severe allergic reaction to one of the ingredients in a hamburger eaten an hour earlier.
According to the findings of BBC journalists, the deceased girl was an 18-year-old math student. She went to eat around 19:00. After leaving the restaurant, she walked several hundred meters and then passed out. The young woman was quickly rushed to the hospital, but died there around 20:30 pm – possibly from injuries sustained in the fall or from an allergic reaction itself. Anaphylactic shock causes narrowing of the airways, leading to death if antihistamines are not given in time.

A popular restaurant where the girl ate a hamburger refuses to comment on these events, arguing that it would be inappropriate.
A spokesman for the local police department said that the exact circumstances of the girl’s death are currently being investigated and that if there are grounds for it, the prosecutor’s office will bring charges against the restaurant owners.
