The capsaicin in chili peppers gives them a spicy flavor. The reason why we feel burning after eating something with the addition of hot spices is the effect of this substance on nociceptors, i.e. pain receptors, which are located, among others, in the oral cavity. Do you want to lose weight quickly and painlessly? Love what’s spicy! The capsaicin diet is simply about seasoning your meals properly.

Hot spices play the main role in this type of diet. What’s more interesting, it doesn’t matter if it’s about seasoning meats, vegetables, soups or even desserts. The most important in such weight loss is the use of red spices: hot and sweet peppers, chili peppers and pepperoni. It is in them that capsaicin is found, i.e. a compound that supports slimming.

It gives our body an energy boost, so eating a light and well-seasoned dish will warm up and stimulate our tissues. This forces the body to make extra effort, thanks to which we burn more calories. In addition, this substance effectively suppresses the feeling of hunger, so it will reduce the desire to snack.

What is it all about?

The author of this method is an American dietitian. According to its principles, if we want to lose weight, we should eat what we want, but always spicy, properly seasoned. Such a menu allows numerous smaller and larger dietary deviations, and the basic requirement is the right amount of spices in the menu.

The treatment lasts four weeks, includes five meals a day and prohibits snacking in between. Although we do not have to count every calorie here, the volume of the dishes is not too large and must be properly balanced so as not to feel hungry. How to prepare capsaicin meals on a diet and what else can this ingredient do for us?

  1. Use ointments and creams with capsaicin, which thanks to their warming effect will help with aching legs and cellulite.
  2. When you’re done chopping the chilli, be sure to wash your hands. One of the worse experiences is touching your eye or nose with your hand when capsaicin is on it.
  3. Remember that capsaicin does not dissolve in water, but in alcohol and fats, so after eating a spicy meal, it is worth drinking it with a glass of wine, buttermilk or yogurt.
