A snack of cottage cheese with greens and garlic is, in fact, a slightly modernized meal of jocks. Protein in it – the sea, vitamins – too, carbohydrates – zero, you can burst as much as you like. Cooking takes about 5 minutes, the price (if the season is for greens, and low-fat cottage cheese is taken) – 3 kopecks.

Once I had a friend visiting me – a poet from Krivoy Rog. I am a hospitable host, roasted veal, warmed up borscht, drank in the second, then again in the second … And then I see that the dude does not have a snack. What’s the matter? Al meat is not tasty, al borscht is not red? It turns out that the comrade is a vegetarian, but he wants to eat – fear, that’s just embarrassed to admit. I’m in the freezer – there is only ice, in the refrigerator – cottage cheese, greens and a couple of garlic. Another would be in my place and lowered his hands, and I came up with this recipe. I’ll tell you a secret, the meat was left that evening, and this cottage cheese appetizer on sandwiches was swept clean.

Cottage cheese snack with herbs: ingredients

To prepare the dish you will need:

  • 400 grams of cottage cheese.

Any will do, not necessarily fresh. With a low-fat version, the snack will come out dietary, but it is more difficult to stir it, with a fatty one, respectively, it is more expensive, easier and tastier, since fat is a flavor enhancer. In my today’s version – 0% cottage cheese.

  • Greenery.

You can put everything except green onions (the dish is bitter with it). I have cilantro, parsley, green basil, dill. The good thing is that in a blender you can even grind stems, withered, stale greens – everything that is usually thrown away. A couple of mint leaves will add a lot to the topic – but no more!

  • Garlic – 2 large cloves.

It all depends on your taste, you can do more, you can not put it at all.

  • Lemon – 1 wedge.

Lemon is in perfect harmony with mint, but the appetizer turns out to be quite tasty without it.

  • Optional Ingredients.

If the cottage cheese does not mix well in a blender, does not break, it comes out too viscous, you can add to it: tomato, bell pepper, cucumber. If it’s not in season – a little mayonnaise (1 tsp) or even vegetable oil – then our cottage cheese appetizer on a sandwich will spread better and get in the way easier.

For cooking, we need a blender, a combine, at least a meat grinder or a mixer – to grind the cottage cheese well.

1. Cut the garlic into 4 parts, throw it into a blender.

2. We also send washed, dried and coarsely chopped greens there.

3. Salt (the mixture will grind better with salt) and chop as finely as possible.

4. Pour half of the cottage cheese, stir.

5. If necessary – add salt, add the juice of one slice of lemon (if you want), throw in the rest of the cottage cheese and mix thoroughly again.
