
An excellent source of fiber supporting the digestion of fatty meats, which has only recently gained culinary fame in Poland. A little-known fact is that although we associate eggplant with a XNUMX% vegetable, according to botany it is a fruit, and more precisely a berry. It came to our country from India in the XNUMXth century. Despite this, at the beginning it was used as … ornamental plants and only in the XNUMXth century its culinary and flavor possibilities were appreciated.
One of the main advantages of eggplant is its low calorie content – 100 grams contain only 20 kcal. Its composition is 2% sugars, 90% water, including many micronutrients – potassium, calcium, magnesium, trace amounts of vitamins A, C and B, as well as a lot of fiber. 100 grams of eggplant contains twice as much fiber as peaches or apples.

Eggplants are considered aphrodisiacs because their flesh contains arginine, considered a natural potency enhancer, as well as minerals that improve sexual performance.
The purple color of eggplant is due to the presence of compounds – anthocyanins, which have anti-allergic, anti-cancer, anti-ulcer and anti-allergic properties. They have a sealing effect on blood vessels, thus preventing bleeding. Eggplant peel has one more valuable substance – nasunin, which removes free radicals from the body that cause aging.
Due to its properties, this plant is known as a means for lowering blood pressure, treating atherosclerosis and detoxifying the body. Eating eggplant is also recommended after antibiotic therapy, as it strengthens the body.

Eggplant, thanks to the low content of sugars, protein and fat, is a low-calorie and easily digestible vegetable. It has pectin in its composition, which is an excellent source of fiber and promotes digestion. What’s more, this plant lowers the level of bad cholesterol, and thanks to the presence of flavonoids, it has a relaxing and relaxing effect on the digestive system.
Eggplant must be eaten after heat treatment, because in its raw form it contains solanine, which causes stomach problems.
