Ms Aleksandra, a Polish woman living in England who has contracted COVID-19, has had a series of vaccinations against the virus behind her. In the last week, she took the second required dose. As an employee of the British medical services, she was among the privileged group of first-time vaccinators. She says she feels much safer now.

— I have escaped the virus for sure, I have dismissed the specter of re-infection. This is some form of security, I’m glad I’m over it. I hope that over time we will regain some of our lives before 2020 – he says.

Also, Ms. Aleksandra’s parents living in Poland, although still fearful, are calmer that the virus will not attack their daughter anymore.

– I calm them down, but they trust me and believe that I know what I’m doing. And my family’s first question after taking the second dose was, “So when are you coming to see us?” – reports the Polish woman.

The woman is glad to have a supportive family and friends.

– I dispel their fears because I know they have them. But I believe that thanks to this vaccination, the world will slowly begin to move towards normality. It will not be the same as it used to be, but we will do it step by step and slowly – he says hopefully.

Aleksandra believes that today there is no other option in the fight against COVID-19. – Only vaccinating us as humanity can save – he adds.

There were no contraindications

Aleksandra talks about the administration of the second dose of the vaccine without emotions.

– A medical interview was carried out, I completed a health questionnaire with a doctor, I was also asked about the side effects after the first vaccination. Then I had time to ask questions, the answers were given to me: I asked if my chronic illness and skin allergies were a contraindication. I was admitted to the second vaccination – she reports.

He hopes that the preparation of Pfizer and BioNTech will be effective in protecting against SARS-CoV-2 virus infection.

– With time we will see if it will be necessary to repeat vaccinations. Will it be once in a while – as in the case of flu, every year – speculates the Polish woman.

At the same time, Ms Aleksandra declares that she will continue to take precautionary measures.

– Of course, I will follow all the guidelines of the British government, and if I am in Poland, I will follow the guidelines introduced in my country. I do not live on a desert island, I also have to take care of others. If it turns out that I will be released from some of the restrictions, then I will allow myself to do so, although I must admit that I have gotten used to the mask and I feel strange without it – she says.

– More stringent restrictions have entered into force, both in my home town of London and throughout the UK. This is all to stop the spread of a new form of the virus.
