The construction of the most modern obstetrics and gynecology and neonatal ward in the Szczecin hospital in Zdroje has been completed. The cost of the investment is PLN 40 million, half of the sum comes from the EU. The first patients should be admitted to the ward at the beginning of next year.
The newly built facility houses four operating rooms, rooms for 60 beds for patients and 12 cots for newborns. For women planning childbirth in the Zdroje hospital, there are single and double rooms, each with its own bathroom, equipped with equipment for washing and caring for newborns.
There are four delivery rooms in the building. Women will be able to give birth to, among others in the water and on the first in the province. West Pomeranian so-called birthing wheel, i.e. a specialized bed enabling delivery in various positions.
The departments of gynecology, obstetrics, newborns with clinics and diagnostic laboratories – X-ray, ultrasound, mammography and computed tomography departments will be moved to the new pavilion.
Hospital spokeswoman Magdalena Paczkowska told PAP on Wednesday that the facility is currently being equipped. The first patients should be admitted to the ward at the beginning of next year.
The construction of the new building in the hospital started in 1997, but the investment was put on hold. Thanks to the implementation of the new project started in 2009, the construction was completed.
The investment cost is nearly PLN 40 million. Almost PLN 21,4 million comes from co-financing under the Regional Operational Program of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, and PLN 10 million comes from the budget of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The remaining part of the costs was covered from its own funds. (PAP)
