A new list of reimbursed drugs has been in force since November 1. 57 products or new indications have been added to the latest reimbursement notice. What exactly has changed since the last, September update of the list of reimbursed drugs?

A new reimbursement list applies from November 1. Announcement of the Minister of Health

November is the month in which the last list of reimbursed drugs in a given year is published. Let us remind you that updating the reimbursement list enables the introduction of new products with proven effectiveness and generic drugs (equivalents of original drugs containing the same active substance).

Thanks to the reimbursement, patients can buy cheaper medicines, foodstuffs for particular nutritional uses and medical devices. The reimbursed products can be purchased at a pharmacy that has signed an agreement with the National Health Fund.

The announcement of the Minister of Health on the list of reimbursed drugs, foodstuffs for particular nutritional uses and medical devices was published on October 21. The document came into force on November 1, 2021.

November reimbursement list. What changed?

Due to the positive decisions on the coverage of the refund, 57 products or new indications were added to the notice. For 50 products or indications, a decision was made to shorten the refund or not to continue it.

Regarding price developments:

  1. official sales prices were reduced for 117 products (from PLN 0,01 to PLN 2926,37);
  2. the official selling prices for 15 products were increased (from PLN 1,88 to PLN 1134);
  3. gross retail prices for 382 products were lowered (from PLN 0,01 to PLN 26,21);
  4. Gross retail prices for 49 products were increased (from PLN 0,02 to PLN 29,31).

November reimbursement list. Which drugs will patients pay less for?

For 324 products, patients will pay less. Only in five of them the reduction amounts to more than PLN 10.

The price of the drug used for desensitization fell the most (specific immunotherapy) in allergic diseases (contains house dust mite allergen extracts, suspension for injection, concentration 3 – 5000 TU / ml or 5000 PNU / ml). The reduction of the surcharge is PLN 452,70. The patient will pay PLN 33,60 for it.

The price of the drug containing anastrozole for the treatment of malignant tumors has also dropped. The reduction is PLN 19,64, the current cost for the patient is PLN 11,33.

The third drug in the order, the price of which has dropped the most compared to the September reimbursement list, is a preparation containing ivabradinum, used in chronic heart failure. The current cost for the patient is PLN 5,30 (less by PLN 16,93).

November reimbursement list. Which drugs are more expensive?

Patients will pay more for 176 products. In 12 of them, the increase exceeds PLN 10.

The price of the drug containing mesalazin, used in ulcerative colitis, increased the most. The increase is PLN 29,31, and the cost increased from PLN 25,89 to PLN 55,20.

The price of a prolonged-release analgesic containing oxycodon increased by PLN 19,55. The current cost is PLN 26,38 instead of PLN 6,83. The same was the increase of the drug containing the same active substance (oxycodonum), used, inter alia, in the case of chronic post-herpetic neuralgia, malignant neoplasms. Its cost is now also PLN 26,38 (previously it cost PLN 6,83).
