RIA Novosti, citing the operational headquarters for the prevention and control of a new infection, announced that the coronavirus was detected in an Italian citizen who flew to Russia.
According to the headquarters, the Italian arrived in Russia on February 29, and turned to doctors three days later. The man was hospitalized, on March 5 he was diagnosed with a coronavirus. What city the patient is in is not specified.
Officials, however, reassure: the Italian’s illness is mild, and his condition is assessed as satisfactory.
Thus, seven cases of COVID-19 infection have already been officially recorded in Russia. At the end of January, the virus was detected in two Chinese citizens in Chita and Tyumen (they had already recovered and were discharged from the hospital). Three people became infected on the Diamind Princess cruise ship.
The sixth case was David Berov, who flew to Moscow from Italy on February 23. Four days later, the man went to the clinic with ARVI symptoms. He was admitted to the infectious diseases hospital No. 1, where he was in the general ward.
David is now in quarantine. On his Instagram, he said that he felt good, but there were no ARVI symptoms. They take blood tests from Berov’s veins, but the results are different. “Someone says that the tests are positive, others are negative. The final tests, which were sent to Novosibirsk, have not yet arrived, ”a relative of the sick person commented on the situation.
