A month to prolong summer

Going on vacation in September is a sure way, but not the only way to add happy sunny days to your calendar. How to preserve the energy of summer for a long time and enter autumn with pleasure, experts say.

Green up your menu

Good health, a toned figure and a lot of energy – these are the gifts that fresh vegetables have prepared for us. Add a glass of green smoothie to your daily menu, and the result will not keep you waiting. For example, blend a beetroot, an apple, a banana, two cups of arugula, and five basil leaves in a blender, adding water as needed. Or make juice from cabbage, carrots, cucumber and celery*. “Drink at least one green drink a day, preferably before breakfast,” recommends nutritionist Anna Belousova.

Save your tan

Contrary to popular belief, a scrub does not wash off a tan. Against! “Removing dead skin cells, it activates microcirculation, promotes oxygenation of cells and seems to renew the golden hue of the skin,” says Olga Guscha, cosmetologist at Le Colon. It is worth using soft products based on sugar and coconut flakes. They can be made at home by adding almond or olive oil to the exfoliating particles.

Take a trip out of town

The warming red-orange palette of autumn has replaced the green colors. The sun shines softer. The forest is filled with silence, the smell of wet earth and mushrooms. Perhaps now is the best time for a weekend in nature – in the country or in a rest home. Fortunately, there are more pleasant places of the European level. For example, this eco-hotel Welna * near Tarusa with an extensive thermal complex with a sauna, a Russian bath, a swimming pool, a pearl bath and a Charcot shower. Here you can consult an aromatherapist, get a relaxing massage and facial treatment, as well as practice yoga in a spacious room with panoramic windows overlooking the pine forest.

Keep moving

If possible – in the fresh air: the sun’s rays, which are enough in September, stimulate the production of vitamin D. It helps strengthen bones, strengthens the immune system and the cardiovascular system, improves mood … A good option is swimming in an outdoor heated pool. In Moscow, for example, this is “The Seagull”, as well as pools in Luzhniki and the “Moscow Olympic Center for Water Sports”. If not water, then yoga, qigong, Nordic walking or simple walks – in the park or in the forest. These types of physical activity gently stimulate the body’s metabolic processes, deepen breathing, and help us stay in touch with ourselves and nature.

Breathe

As we put on more and more clothes, it becomes harder for us to stay in touch with our body. A simple exercise will help to avoid this, which also stimulates the production of endorphins. “Breathe through your nose at normal speed and depth, but without pausing between exhalation and inhalation,” says conscious breathing specialist Lyubov Bogdanova. – Focus on the inhalation four times, let it be more intense than the exhalation. And then exhale four times. Continue for at least a minute.”
