Map of the “most resilient municipalities” – when will it be created?

According to “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”, a map that will show the percentage of inhabitants of a given town vaccinated against COVID-19 is to be created for the purposes of the competition for the “most resistant commune”. Let us recall that it is one of the elements of the campaign promoting vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 conducted at the local government level.

Citing sources in the prime minister’s office, the daily reports that work is currently underway on combining data aggregated from many sources, including ZUS, GUS and declared postal codes during vaccination. This is because the place of residence of the vaccinated people will be taken into account when creating the map, not the place of vaccination (there were situations where people, wanting to get vaccinated as soon as possible, traveled many kilometers to the place where the preparations were available).

“Some of the inhabitants traveled to towns, even several dozen kilometers away, to be able to receive an injection to protect against COVID-19 as soon as possible. Therefore, even the exact number of vaccines administered in a particular city says little about the vaccination rate. And it is he who will decide about the victory in the competition recently announced by the government for the most resilient commune “, stresses DGP.

According to the daily information, the map with data on the number of vaccinated inhabitants with a breakdown into voivodeships, poviats and communes will be publicly available on the website from around 10 June.
