Since the majority of fetishists are men, this opinion can be considered justified. Men reduce the whole to its parts. They can be fascinated by the foot, shoulder, legs or even shoes, as in Luis Buñuel’s film Diary of a Maid. If a man is asked what he likes in a woman, he will talk about her breasts or buttocks, while a woman will talk about her demeanor, voice, smell.
This situation is largely due to our Jewish-Christian culture, which has become tolerant of nudity only since the 50s of the last century. Until that time, some parts of the female body (in each era) had to be hidden from view, which taught men to think of the whole, seeing only a part. After all, once to see at least a piece of a woman’s leg above the boot was a whole event!
