A man brought his mother’s ashes to his first date

It happens that in correspondence a person seems nice and quite adequate to us, but in personal communication he does not show himself in the best way. But for the heroine of this story, a pleasant online acquaintance ended in shock on the first date.

A Reddit user shared the story of the most shocking date in her life. The girl anonymously said that she met a man on Tinder, and she liked him. After some sweet chatting, she invited him to her house for a barbecue.

The date went wrong from the start. At first the guest was late, and then explained that he drove past the right house several times, because he could not decide whether to come at all. Then it turned out that he brought his food to their common table – but only for himself. He did not even think to share with the hostess.

However, the strangest and even frightening was yet to come. Sitting at the table, the man took out a small capsule with the powder inside from his pocket. The girl decided that this was some kind of trinket with sand – one of those that are sold to tourists at sea. The man caught her eye and said readily: “I want to introduce you to my mother.”

Seeing that the girl was literally speechless, he explained: “I like to take her with me to important moments in my life. I constantly wear part of her ashes in this pendant around my neck, the other part in a ring. And this tattoo is also dedicated to her.”

The girl did not know how to react to this. “I have lost loved ones and try not to judge those who go through the stages of grief in their own way. But this man brought the ashes of his dead mother to a date with me and put them on my table!” she shared on the forum. The man was not embarrassed at all and continued to eat his burger.

The girl said that she needed to urgently complete a work task, and their meeting ended. Shortly after the departure of the eccentric man, she received a message from him: “My mother liked you so much. Looking forward to our next date.”

The heroine of the story wrote back that she did not feel connected to him or his mother. And I wrote a post about everything that happened. Commentators supported her. Someone joked, “On the other hand, if he had brought his living mother on the first date, it would probably have turned out even worse.”
