A hot bath burns calories like a workout

This is great news for those who love to spend time in the bathtub. A hot relaxing bath and burning calories? Sounds like something impossible! And yet… According to the latest research, a hot bath helps burn calories and prevent type 2 diabetes, among other things.

Especially in the winter season, hot baths have many followers. Because who, after a day of work, does not dream of a moment of relaxation in pleasant conditions. Many people do not like sitting in the bathtub idle, but it is good to know that bathing in warm water has a positive effect on our health. It relaxes our muscles and allows us to relax when we are very stressed.

The latest research published by Dr. Steve Faulkner of Loughborough University confirms that a hot bath helps, among other things, to burn calories and prevent type 2 diabetes.

If while taking a bath or shower you want not only to relax, but also to take care of your skin, we recommend cosmetics from Vianek – nourishing shower gel, nourishing and smoothing body scrub and nourishing and regenerating oil, which are intended for the care of very dry skin.

What was the research about?

Researchers gathered a group of fourteen men and examined the effect of a hot bath on blood sugar levels and calorie burning. The experiment consisted of two phases, an hour’s bath in 40-degree water and an hour’s bike ride. The study was designed in such a way that the temperature of the human body would increase by one degree in both aspects. This situation also allowed scientists 24 hours after the experiment to check the participants’ blood sugar levels and how many calories were burned.

It found that blood sugar levels were 10 percent lower when participants took a hot bath after eating a meal than when they played sports Explained the researcher.

Hot baths not only have these properties. They are also anti-inflammatory – they strengthen the body in the fight against infections. If we use them regularly, we can reduce inflammation that occurs in chronic diseases. In addition, during one hour of lying in the bathtub, we can burn 130 calories.

For bathing, it is worth using a relaxing salt, eg Calming – salt with Optima Natura lavender oil or Regeneration – Optima Natura bromine salt. We also recommend products offered by the Tadé Pays du Levant brand. Its founder drew inspiration from the Oriental culture, which focused especially on body care. For this purpose, you can use relaxing bath salts, olive-bay soaps or washing and peeling gloves.

Then, after taking a bath, apply Liquid Coconut Oil to your skin and hair, which is a great addition to your daily care routine.
