A guide for every woman – pregnancy calendar

Pregnancy is a very important period for every woman. It is a time of special focus on your body, the changes taking place in it as well as on the future child. It is important during this period to eliminate harmful habits in favor of healthy ones that positively affect health and well-being. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully follow the next stages of the child’s development from the very conception.

First Trimester – Weeks 1-13

During this period, pregnancy is not yet visible, but it is the most significant period for the development of the conceived child. In the first three months, it is extremely susceptible to factors that can disrupt its development. It is also the time when all internal systems and organs develop. In the following months, they are only improved.

For the expectant mother in the first trimester, there may be typical ailments such as nausea or swollen and painful breasts. You can also notice an increased need to urinate, which is caused by increasing pressure on the bladder of the enlarging uterus.

Second Trimester – Weeks 14-27

This period is one of the most pleasant, which is why it is often called the “honeymoon of pregnancy”. The future mother is already familiar with the changes taking place in her body and can enjoy them. The initial ailments also subside. This is a period of intensive development for a child. His movements are more intense – he can move his well-developed fingers, hands, legs and feet. At this time, you can already visit the pregnancy ultrasound to see the silhouette of the baby and hear its heartbeat. The ultrasound image shows a clearly outlined baby’s head, mouth, and the sex of the baby can also be determined.

A baby in the second trimester of pregnancy can already distinguish sounds. He reacts to louder sounds with a jerky movement. He can also feel his mother’s voice.

Third Trimester – Week 28-40

This is the time when the expectant mother begins to worry about the birth itself and its course. Weight increases more rapidly than in previous periods. There are also problems with back pain caused by the weight of the abdomen. You may also notice a significant increase in the breasts and enlargement of the nipples.

At the beginning of the last trimester, the baby weighs about 1 kg and his weight is steadily increasing. The fetal lungs are already adapted to inhaling and exhaling air. However, if it had been born earlier, it would have had breathing problems. The child’s eyesight also develops intensively, it also begins to dream, which can be observed by rapid eye movements.

This is the last call to prepare a layette for the hospital and prepare a room for the child. It should be ready when you return with your baby from the hospital.

At all stages of pregnancy, it is important to be aware of the changes taking place in the mother-to-be. She should also be under the care of a gynecologist who will safely guide her through pregnancy until delivery.
