16-year-old Alena Pozdnyakova from Taganrog took part in the TV project “You are super! Dancing”.
Participants in the competition for young talents on the NTV channel are children left without parental care. The auditions were attended not only by children from orphanages and boarding schools, but also young dancers brought up in foster families and under guardianship.
In total, the organizers received about a thousand applications from those wishing to dance on the big stage. However, only 145 of the best were able to get on TV. Among the lucky ones was a young native of Taganrog. From eight months old, Alena’s grandmother Valentina Vasilievna has been raising her.
While still very small, the slender and agile girl showed an ability for choreography. Not surprisingly, according to Valentina Vasilievna, her failed daughter-in-law, Alena’s mother, moved well and had a well-built figure. The daughter communicated with her mother, despite the fact that she was deprived of parental rights, and when the child was 11 years old, the woman died.
At the age of 5, the grandmother decides to give her granddaughter to dance. However, due to the fact that the grandmother worked in shifts, there was no one to take the girl to lessons and classes had to be stopped.
At the age of 7, Valentina Vasilievna again brought her granddaughter to ballroom sports dances. Since then, the girl did not stop practicing and showed excellent results. It is worth noting that shining on the floor is not a cheap pleasure, you can go broke on outfits alone.
“Sewing one dress costs about 40 thousand rubles,” says Valentina Vasilievna. – Where can I get this amount? I sew myself.
Alena’s success in the dance field is confirmed by numerous certificates. The girl has repeatedly won prizes in regional competitions, but she did not have the opportunity to dance “all over the country” before the TV project.
“To take part in federal competitions, we need money, at least to pay for travel and accommodation, and we cannot afford such costs,” the pensioner says.
About the project “You are super! Dancing ”Valentina Vasilievna was told by the girl’s class teacher.
– We gladly sent an application for participation together with the granddaughter’s video recordings, – the woman recalls. – True, they did not have any special hopes to get on the project. But soon there was an unexpected call. The interlocutor on the other end of the line said that now Alena will have to go through the casting online – via Skype. We freed up space in the hall and installed the computer more comfortably. Alena in a beautiful dress began to dance her favorite “Cha-cha-cha”.
After watching the dance, “people in the monitor” asked Alena to show her hands. Evaluating how the girl’s brushes work in the dance, the members of the selection committee were satisfied.
Grandmother watched with excitement. Soon the long-awaited call rang. “You are in the project,” Valentina Vasilievna was informed. A week later, the grandmother and her granddaughter were admiring the scenery from the window on the Rostov-Moscow train. In the capital, they were accommodated in a hotel. It is worth noting that the organizers covered all the expenses.
“In Moscow, with our children, and there are more than a hundred of them, choreographers begin to study,” the woman says. – Alena complicated her dance, put new chains, ligaments … The training lasted two weeks.
– I watched various music competitions on TV and once dreamed of taking part in such a show, – Alena confessed to the Woman’s Day correspondent. – To go on such a big stage is incredibly scary, my knees are shaking. Especially when such stars as Yegor Druzhinin, Kristina Kretova, Evgeny Papunaishvili and Anastasia Zavorotnyuk sit on the jury. I was very worried that I could forget some movement. In general, this is beyond words.
Despite the tight schedule of rehearsals and classes, the girl managed to visit Red Square.
– An incredibly beautiful place. I really enjoyed walking there, – says the contestant.
In general, Alena is a very creative person. In addition to dancing, she is fond of drawing, writes poetry and loves to sing. In addition, the girl makes handmade jewelry. She dreams of becoming a famous choreographer and connecting life with the stage, so she plans to enter the choreographic college of arts in the future.
In her native Taganrog, the whole city is rooting for Alena. By the way, the girl entered the stage in a dress sewn by the caring hands of a loving grandmother. Woman’s Day will follow the fate of her compatriot on the project.
