A city could be built on Mars in 33 years. And this is how it will be

The appearance of the first cities on the red planet is only a matter of time. And while our grandchildren are preparing to become the first settlers, we can consider in detail the project of their future housing.

Perhaps soon the question of whether there is life on Mars, we will be able to answer in the affirmative. Architectural studio Abiboo has published a draft of the first settlement on this mysterious planet. And this is amazing, especially considering that the start of construction, according to some experts, may begin even during our lifetime, in 2054.

According to the head of the studio Alfredo Munoz, this is quite real. And then by 2100 the first interplanetary migrants can move into their new homes.

The first of five proposed cities on the red planet will be named after the Chinese goddess Nuwa. According to legend, it was she who was the creator of everything that exists on Earth.

The weather on Mars is by no means whispering: atmospheric pressure and radiation levels are not suitable for a person. Therefore, hermetic houses are built into the rock. From the outside, they may look like swallows’ nests, but inside they form a single ecosystem – with plants, living quarters, offices, technical departments and laboratories.

There will be no questions about where to get energy from – it will only be necessary to deploy a solar battery system. Oxygen for people will be produced by plants brought from the earth.

There is material for building on Mars. And if water is found on the planet, then it will be possible to generate carbon from it, and with its participation to get steel. The designers tried to take into account everything that is currently known about the red planet. Including gravity, which is only a third of the force of gravity on Earth.

The future is closer than we think. Flights into space, the work of astronauts in Earth orbit and the benefits that satellites provide us are already part of our reality. We may yet see the beginning of the construction of a colony on Mars. And our grandchildren will live there, considering this planet a second home. And, who knows, maybe by that time humanity will stop wars and direct all its efforts to the development of science, technology and space discoveries. And apple trees will bloom on Mars…
