A Cantina with a solidarity menu

The Gastronomix Winery It is a place run and managed by the 50 students of the Gastronomix project who are already in the middle of their training, a last stage in which they will face the management of the restaurant and direct customer service.

During the next 10 weeks, the students will prepare a menu with seasonal products supplied by the Chamartín Market, They will manage the reservations, serve the diners, serve the tables and distribute the tasks of a Royal Restaurant, located in the same school where the training of the Gastronomix Project, la Casa de Campo Hospitality School.

The 50 students of Gastronomix project They have been receiving technical and specialized training from the chefs since October Carlos Sancanuto, Carlos Hernández and Manuel del Soto, out of the first promotion of the Basque Culinary Center.

La solidarity action of the project focuses on the training opportunity for 50 young people from vulnerable backgrounds and has the support of the JP Morgan Chase Foundation and The Thyme Foundation, which offers its long experience in the guidance and intermediation of young people at risk and advises students in the search for a stable and quality career path.

Other collaborators of the project are the aforementioned The Chamartín Market as an official supplier, Bodegas A. Barceló with his wine “Glorioso” and “Viña Mayor”, More Than Bread and its baked goods and other companies such as Agnesi Pasta, Zamorana Traditional Flour, Gary’s Uniforms, Dacsa, Kikkoman, Maille, Tabasco, Oro de Bailén Oils and Mofletes Uncle Honey. 

The general public will be able to go, prior online reservation, to see its preparation and taste a quality menu, prepared by the students, at a price of 10 euros, thus collaborating in a solidarity project that will allow students to put into practice their knowledge, experience and skills both in the conception of the menu and in the organization of the premises and customer service.

An authentic experience for all the participants of the day, cooks, waiters and of course the diners.

Some of the recipes served in the canteen can be found on the website of Food in the box, a Spanish startup co-founded by Fabian Leon (finalist of Masterchef Spain), to which it lends its image and creativity (Masterchef Spain finalist).

The delivery concept of Foodinthebox is the home delivery of boxes with exact ingredients to prepare recipes of all kinds, with a simple step by step so that everyone can cook them.

Its objective has been to create a product that serves to cook food easily, with quality and flexible in terms of tastes or affinities.
