A 17-year-old woman tried to get pregnant and gave birth to six twins

More recently, a childless couple instantly became large – they have three daughters and three sons.

Western Nigerians, Ajibola and Adeboye Taiwo, have been trying to become parents for – scary to say – 17 years! Unsuccessfully. In such a situation, anyone would have despaired. But the couple dreamed of children passionately.

Either higher forces intervened in the matter, or medicine has now stepped far ahead – whose merit in this situation is unknown. But fact: Ajibola got pregnant. The first ultrasound of the expectant mother was done in November last year. Four hearts were beating on the screen. This is no longer the most common pregnancy. But in January, when the couple arrived at one of the medical centers in Richmond, Virginia, they were told the startling news: in fact, they are waiting for gears!

As a rule, in multiple pregnancies, babies are born prematurely. These babies are great, they “sat” in the mother’s tummy for up to 30 weeks. On May 11, a team of forty people took delivery. As a result of the caesarean section, three girls and three boys were born.

How unique the case of the Taiwo family is, statistics show: in 2015, out of four million births in America, only 24 cases gave birth to five or more babies.

Happy mother has already been discharged from the hospital. But her children will have to stay there. They are now in the intensive care unit. They were born quite crumbs: the smallest weighed about 700 grams, the largest – a little over a kilogram. At the same time, doctors assess their condition as satisfactory and say that babies are actively developing.

Parents constantly visit their babies, help doctors take care of babies. They practice the so-called “kangaroo method” known as skin-to-skin. Dad and mom hug their sons and daughters to their naked breasts. This is scientifically proven: this method helps premature babies develop faster, and also increases the chances of breastfeeding. And they are also influenced by … knitted octopuses – it turns out that these toys help premature babies to develop faster.

And Ajibola is already dreaming: her children will become doctors. Such as those who helped them come into being.

“I hope that the smallest of my children will grow up and say:“ I was so tiny, and look at me now, ”says a mother with many children. “I want my children to return to the medical center and learn to take care of others in the same way as the people who took care of me and my family.
