It turned out that for those who are forced to constantly choose, it is more difficult to focus on everyday tasks. Volunteers, who had to make a decision under the terms of the experiment and choose something from a huge range of products and services (unlike those who just discussed shopping options), then, solving simple examples, often made mistakes — it was more difficult for them to concentrate. Psychologists believe that the need for constant choice keeps our brain in suspense and in some sense exhausts it (whether it is a forced choice or a voluntary one).
