The Event pays tribute to the Mediterranean Diet as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Since in 2013 UNESCO, granted the Mediterranean Diet the well-deserved award, there are innumerable conferences, festivals and events that have been held until today on the occasion of this recognition.
Now it is the turn of the Town of Tavirto, in the Algarve Portuguese.
The south of the Iberian Peninsula is known for its excellent climate, the sea, and especially its gastronomy, but this corner of the chin of Portugal, keeps within it a magnificent architectural and, as well as a gastronomic, legacy.
Su Gastronomy It is rich in products from the sea as well as from the land, having as its maximum exponent the fish from this Atlantic bay, seafood and vegetables and legumes from its nearby mountain that provide a very beneficial ecosystem for cultivation in this geographical area.
Hunting and sausages are part of its gastronomic culture that, in combination with seafood products, make a peculiar combination of ingredients in their dishes that during this month of April we can taste in the establishments attached to the XII Festival of Mountain Gastronomy.
The Festival is framed within the set of activities that the town of Tavira celebrates, promoted by the municipal bodies that see in the gastronomic development another very important source of tourism that supports the already existing of visitors to the architectural complex of the municipality as well as its impressive beaches and wetlands.
Quality, rigorous good food and elaboration are the factors that stand out among the participants of these gastronomic days that will make us discover a set of flavors that have been called “Those from the other Algarve “.
