Eastern cuisine has a certain specificity in terms of the use of a large number of spices, thanks to which the dishes acquire a special and pronounced taste. Salad is no exception, the ingredients for the preparation of which can be varied, as well as its recipes.

Features of oriental salads
The number and composition of spices used in the preparation of salads can be varied, but their “highlight” is the resulting rather peculiar taste. The latter is achieved not only by combining ingredients that are not always familiar to Europeans, but also by the composition of the sauce. Mayonnaise is practically not used in oriental cuisine, since preference is given to dressings made from oil and lemon juice, although this type of sauce also has its own application. At the same time, the composition of salads largely depends on a specific country, since taste preferences are different everywhere.
Another feature of oriental salads is that they are served not only cold, but also warm.
Ingredients of oriental salad with millet
This recipe can be seen in various interpretations, including one that requires:
– a pair of heads of red lettuce onions; – 3 tomatoes; – 40 g of dry millet; – some pitted olives; – a bunch of medium-sized dill and parsley; – olive oil, salt, chili pepper for dressing.
Millet must be thoroughly washed and boiled until tender, then combined with chopped tomatoes, onions and herbs. Before serving, the salad should be infused for a couple of hours.
The recipe for oriental salad with zucchini
To prepare it, you need: – 0,5 kg of young zucchini; – 1 tbsp. l. olive or ordinary vegetable oil; – 1 tsp. not too thick honey; – a couple of drops of wine vinegar; – dill and parsley; – salt and pepper to taste; – a couple of garlic cloves.
Delicate zucchini must be peeled and cut into thin slices. From a mixture of oil, honey, vinegar, chopped garlic, spices and herbs, you need to make a sauce in which to marinate the zucchini for at least 5-6 hours. It is even better to prepare the salad in the evening, and then in the morning, after standing in the refrigerator overnight, it will be ready to eat.
The thinner the zucchini slices are cut, the better they will be soaked in the flavor of the sauce. It is most convenient to cut the zucchini with a special knife for peeling vegetables with a thin blade
Recipe for oriental salad with meat
It will require: – 200 g of boiled beef; – 3 tomatoes; – 1 sweet pepper; – 200 g of hard cheese; – 100 g of mayonnaise; – salt, paprika, black pepper.
The beef is cut into strips, and bell peppers are also crushed. It is required to make the first layer of them, which must be greased with mayonnaise and sprinkled with paprika. The next layer of lettuce should be laid out from the halves of the tomato rings, on top of which are added salt, black pepper and mayonnaise. The top of the salad is made from a layer of grated cheese.
