9 things that scare pregnant women in vain

During pregnancy, we become much more emotional. And, unfortunately, less rational. Therefore, we are ready to believe in the most incredible things, especially if they come from the lips of “experienced”. We tell you what you should definitely not believe – and worry too.

1. You can not lie on your stomach: crush the child

Such fear can take root in the head of a mother-to-be. Absolutely in vain: in the early stages, you can sleep as you like, it is completely safe. But when the belly begins to grow, it will become simply impossible to sleep on it. Your body will automatically change its position so that it is safe for the child and as comfortable as possible. It will be difficult to find a really comfortable position, though. Doctors are actually worried about something else: sleeping on their backs. It is really better to be in this position as little as possible – it is harmful to the fetus.

2. Facial features will change – the nose will grow

“Do you remember Lenka? When she walked pregnant, her nose was swollen – it seems that she was growing along with her belly. And suddenly it will be the same with me, ”my friend worried. I reassured: they say, I have nothing swollen.

In fact, facial features during pregnancy really change, “float”. This is due to hormonal changes and edema. But there is no drama in this: the pregnancy will end, and the face will become the same. Sometimes, however, the double chin remains, but this already depends solely on nutrition and weight gain.

3. Do not eat it – the child will be born a freak

The word “this” can mean anything. Fish, for example – the child will be dumb. Or coffee, or chocolate, or strawberries. What if there are nitrates in vegetables, and salmonella in eggs? It will not take long to reach neurosis.

Experts say that during pregnancy it is really worth giving up some products: unpasteurized milk, soft cheeses, certain types of fish, and limit coffee. But fanaticism is useless here, and the forbidden list is not that long.

4. The main thing is to beware of miscarriage.

Yes, losing a child is scary. But living with the constant thought of how to avoid a miscarriage is already some kind of special kind of disorder. “It was a constant suffocating fear that something would go wrong. And if I lose my child, I will not be able to continue living, ”said one of my acquaintances.

Creepy thoughts are perhaps the worst thing you can do. Yes, there are dangerous periods during pregnancy. And you can hardly influence them in any way. It is necessary to follow the rules of a healthy lifestyle, treat yourself carefully and remember the statistics just in case: after 14 weeks, the risk of spontaneous abortion is about 1 percent.

We have tons of examples of how you can look even better after giving birth than before. For example, here is this mother of five children, who in total lost 115 kilograms after giving birth. There is the experience of Maria Kozhevnikova, who recovered by 40 kilograms, and now looks like she never gave birth. There is Oksana Samoilova, who is pregnant for the fourth time and slender as a reed. The mother of two daughters Anna Khilkevich is also an example of an ideal figure. There are many such examples. So everything depends entirely on you. And yes – do not “eat for two”, it is harmful.

6. Stay at home – all of a sudden the water will go away right on the street

Pfff. No, this, of course, can happen. But unlikely. In reality, such a “waterfall”, as in the movies, is practically not found. This is usually a thin trickle that can drip for more than one day. In addition, there are other signs that speak eloquently: the birth is coming soon. If you pay attention to them, you are reliably insured against embarrassment.

However, even if this happens – so what? Births are rarely scheduled, so you have every right to be unexpected.

7. What if you give birth ahead of schedule?

Premature birth is also a common horror, especially with multiple pregnancies. According to statistics, about 10 percent of mothers are faced with this phenomenon. But in most cases, doctors warn of this possibility. Among the risk factors are pregnancy with twins, experience of premature birth in the past, some pathologies of the development of pregnancy. And without any prerequisites, the likelihood of premature birth is extremely small.

8. The old breast cannot be returned.

First, you will return it. Modern cosmetology is capable of miracles even without the intervention of plastic surgeons. Secondly, beautiful breasts are a very strange goal in life, don’t you think? Of course, there is a possibility that the once perky bust will turn into miserable rags, but this is still nature – you cannot argue against it. It’s as pointless as complaining about rain in the fall.

9. I can’t handle a child

Of course you can do it. Perhaps at first it will all look like a comedy of mistakes, which will suck all your strength out of you. But everything comes with experience: it is impossible to learn how to change diapers without practicing a dozen or two times. Moreover, in terms of theory, all modern mothers are extremely grounded: courses, literature, the Internet to help. Practice comes with experience. And the main thing is that you love your baby and try to do everything you can for him.

The list of “scarecrows” is far from complete. After all, there are still a bunch of signs and superstitions that others happily dump on the head of a pregnant woman. There are her own internal concerns. However, the worst enemy of the future mother is her worries and readiness to panic with or without.
