Well, we start with the keys so that your YouTube channel is really useful for your restaurant, or for the objectives that you have set for yourself. Without further ado, let’s get started.
Define “success”
The first thing, before anything else, is to define what you are looking for with your channel. You can, as I have mentioned before, enhance your personal brand, your establishment, retain existing customers, obtain new customers, or simply add value.
If you are clear about this, your expectations will be more real and in line with what you really want.
Define your target audience
So far it may seem obvious to you, but these first two points are key. You should know who you are addressing: people between 20 and 40 years old who are foodies, vegetarians, pastry lovers, etc.
Pick a niche
Success on the internet is in segmentation: define your niche well.
- If your restaurant specializes in Mexican food, it would be good to create a channel about myths, tips, recipes and tricks about Mexican food.
- If your establishment offers vegetarian food, then you can provide recipes, tips and even guides to start a vegetarian diet in a healthy and cheap way.
This will help you to have consistency and personality.
Agile and quality content
It does not matter what you speak: people are looking for something of quality. By quality I do not mean a video of excellent production, but rather that it contributes something different, useful, fresh.
There are millions of food and restaurant videos on YouTube – do something that sets you apart. No, you are not going to invent anything, but you must be original in something.
Also, look for your videos to be agile: do not make videos in real time, but keep it short and agile. Experts recommend that at the beginning the videos should be short, and when you get an audience, extend them to a maximum of 10 minutes. A longer duration would make the video very long.
Rhythm
In all broadcast media it is key to maintain a rhythm: choose whether you are going to publish weekly, every two days or every fifteen days. Whatever you choose, keep it as a commandment.
It is very valuable: if people stop seeing your video alerts, you will no longer be relevant to them.
Variety of contents
Do not think that because they are videos, nothing is restricted to you. There are different types of content on YouTube, like any content from any media or social network.
In order not to bore you, you can vary the contents: recipes, tutorials, question and answer session, a live broadcast, etc. Don’t always do the same thing, don’t bore your audience.

If you know about blogs, you will know that SEO and copywriting is key so that the content is read more and better, it does not matter if you write on your blog, on Facebook and other social networks.
With YouTube you are not saved: it is key to have a good title, description and suitable keywords, not only to get visitors and reproductions, but to show what your video and your content are about.

When you browse videos on YouTube, a thumbnail is seen in each video that the system shows you. They are called video thumbnails.
